Hi everyone, I recently received a nice set of OEM 4 runner rims and tires that I’m using as a winter set. They are 265/70/17 and rims are 17x7. Id like to make them more rugged and poke out a bit. Anyone have recommendations as well as brands of wheel spacers.

I have run thousands of miles on Spidertrax on my FJ, former Tundra, and FJ cruiser without incident. All of the vehicles were/are used on and off road. I have not heard of Bora but whatever you go with make certain it is "hub-centric".

I'll parrot, spidertrax or bora. I'm actually running both on my truck. 1.25" spidertrax in the front and 2" bora in the rear. Needed more poke in the rear to clear my rear shocks.

I was considering this, but for 200 bucks that's the cost of 1 new rim, might as well get me some ray10s.for a little more

Devils Advocate. What is the difference between a spacer and a rim with less offset?

Just more potential points of failure. But as far as additional stress introduced into the suspension, they’re both the same. That’s why if you use quality spacers and proper install procedures, there’s an extremely low chance of anything going wrong. I’ve yet to see any failures on here.

That’s a good point. I just wouldn’t consider jumping from spending $200 to $800 (plus install fees) a “little more”.

I've been running 1.25" Spydertrax spacers with 4Runner Pro wheels on my taco for about a year and a half with no issues. As previously said: Just make sure you torque them correctly and check them again between 500 and 1000 miles.
