Portsmouth. Maintenance technician at a boiler plant there. Same job I do in Texas. They offered a phone interview which would save me 3,000 miles of driving but I like face to face more

 

I’m sure there’s plenty of that too lol

That’s good, sounds like you’ll do great since you’re already doing the same thing! Hopefully that’ll calm your nerves on the interview weld.

 

Hahahah im a terrible test welder so hopefully they don’t make me do one. I’m a better field welder. But welding wasn’t even in the job description so it should be easy

I gotta move up there eventually anyway and we all know the world is “apply online” so it’s not like I could take a week off and go up there job hunting.

it was $450ish in fuel and miss work Monday& Tuesday

or

fly for $600 and Be at work Tuesday morning

so I think this is the cheaper way but I don’t have a lot of options. I gotta get this. I gotta be with my wife lol

 

Seems like everyone has a tint shop on every corner now. I went to premier auto sound in churchland, Ive only had 2 vehicles tinted here over the years but its always been quality.
And i know there are cheaper shops but I refuse to take my truck to just anybody

 

Selling an OEM roof rack if anybody’s looking. It will fit a 2014 DC.

I bought it off another member in May and it’s still in the box. I have a rack on my cap and usually carry my surfboards in the bed so don’t need this.

I can’t find communications with the previous owner but he said it was missing 1 bolt.

Ight so yalls boiler mechanic and my boiler mechanic are totally different. Not sure if I should wing it and goto the interview anyway or cancel my ticket and wait for a job I actually know.
I could learn yalls boiler pretty quick as it seems simple but not sure if the company will think the same or not lol. Gotta hate this day and age where everything is apply online and you can’t actually talk to anyone anymore

 

I would just do the phone interview then, a nice middle ground. If you bomb it, you’re not out anything

 

I’m gonna call today and see what I can do. If anything I could pick the persons brain before deciding the chances.

what sucks is it’s through a hiring agency so it’s probably gonna be hard to get ahold of the interview people.

Experience, your natural/instinctive aptitude go a LONG way, along with attitude. It's not like they're just gonna hire someone (even with that exact boiler system/setup) and just say, here it is, there are the manuals/SOPs, good luck...right?

 

True that! Trying to call today and see if I can do a phone interview but the address they gave me for the temp agency was this which doesn’t seem professional.

 

I went to John. Great dude, fast turn around and clean ass install, no gap in the window tint like some places do for the weather seal. Plus if you ever have an issue with the tint he'll fix it free of charge.
