Is there a lock option for the 2011 Taco with backup camera?
The pop-n-lock will not work. I have the solid extang folding cover.
    Any other suggestions?

I have an '09 with the Extang Solid Fold (POS BTW) and have the Pop-and-lock manual lock PL5300. I thought this lock was designed to fit all 2nd Gen Tacos. What is different with the 2011?

The lock part seems to go right where my backup camera is.
I was wondering if they made anything like a trailer lock. (it clamps on to the handle to prevent someone from opening the tailgate).

It does just that. The entire OEM handle is replaced by the Pop and Lock Handle with lock built in. You have to remove the camera from the old handle, remove a plastic plug in the new one and install it. The cam is on the opposite side of the OEM one. There is plenty of cable to move it over. It is a very easy 10 minute project. Here is a pic of mine. There was an install thread about a year ago.

I sent you a PM but you don't like the Solid Fold Extang Cover?

Another option is the dyno-lock. It works with your key fob and uses your stock tailgate handle.

That is an option but I have a solid bed cover that locks from underneath. If and electric lock fails I would have an issue. I have seen too many posts about the dyno locks breaking.

I've seen far more about the pop and lock breaking actually.

You've got the same issue of not getting into the bed no matter which lock breaks.

I just recently installed pop and lock on my 2011 Tacoma w/bu cam. No problems, install was fairly simple, and lock works great, so far..........:D

I have yet to see an single post about a PL5300 breaking. I just have more faith in a mechanical lock than an electrical one.

Thanks for the links. I have not been very active on this forum recently and missed those. Most seem to have issues with the P&L "self locking" and not many with actual breakage issues. For the "it looks like a cheap piece of plastic" the OEM also looks like a piece of cheap plastic. You can probably find as many anti-Dyno locks threads as anti-P&L threads so we could argue forever.

I got one of the first P&L PL5300 locks when they first came out and have not had a single problem with it. The only minor issue was that the key was a bit difficult to insert and turn. I hit the key sharp edges lightly with some sandpaper and it worked very nicely.

Here are the PL5300 installation instructions which show how easy it is to install.
    http://www.popandlock.net/images/products/PL5300.pdf

Update: I installed my lock in July '09. I emailed Pop & Lock this morning asking if an changes have been made since I got my lock. They promptly emailed me back telling me they would send me a new handle and spring kit. All I had to do was provide proof of purchase. They replied back that they were mailing the parts out next week. The attached instructions on how to install the parts as well as a link to Youtube for videos on how to do it. I noticed a PL5300 installation video there also.
