Got my new KM3s installed. The guys at Discount Tire were really skeptical about them fitting lol.

What PSI are you guys running? They put 40 in mine. Is that a little high?

i've ran mine between 32 and 40 to test. i'm at 36 now which i think is the happy medium for daily driving in san diego streets. 40 felt too stiff for everyday driving but i'll still run at 40 if i'm doing long drives on the interstate.
congrats! they look great. did you get a matching spare? btw, ive wheeled mine in sedona and the grip was awesome

I didn’t get a spare yet. I’ll do that sometime next month.

I’m guessing the size difference between 255/85 will be to much to us a stock tire in order to get to a tire shop?

If the damaged wheel is on the rear, swap the wheels so the spare is on the front, then limp home in 2wd.

Mine were set at 40 as well. My 11 year old daughter was saying that her stomach bump a little more than before but it’s fun.

I did a chalk test and found 30F 28R cold to have the most even footprint, but gas mileage sucked and turning was mushy. Upped it to 42/40 and it rides stiffer but the steering is improved and I got 2mpg back.

255/85r16 cooper st maxx, RCI sliders and skids
After looking at the forum for a few weeks, I decided to go with 255/85r16 cooper st maxx tires. I do notice a slight rub when I fully crank the wheel in parking lots, I think that having the extra weight from sliders and skids might have something to do with that though.

Hmm, have same setup with aluminum front skid and sliders and have cycled the suspension, the top of the tire brushes the top of the wheel well if you bounce the truck but haven’t had rubbing in the front or back. Where’s it rubbing?

I think it's the outside of the front tires. There is some wear there, but Idk if it's from the bad alignment I initially had, or rubbing. I get a slight vibration when the wheel is fully cranked. It's not really that noticable and does not happen all the time, seems to happen more when backing up.

The outside of the front tires can mean rubbing at the front of the wheel well or the rear. Any rub marks on the fenders? An alignment may help. I get a lil vibration when turning tight slow corners but that’s just the chunky lugs being rolled over.

I had full rci skids and sliders. Didnt have any rubbing but i had km3s. I think their actual height is 32.8 maybe yours is taller than 33

I went and took a better look. The rear of the fender on the front drivers side looks like it might have made contact on the plastic. It's so subtle that what i am feeling could also be just the lugs like you said. It's not that big of a deal to me since I plan on getting a lift soon, and that should remedy it.
The st maxx are also 32.8, my truck dropped a half inch hub to fender in the front after I installed the rci gear, did you notice a height decrease with yours?

I think an alignment with 2+ caster will help, it moves the wheels forward. I’ll take a pic of my alignment when I get home and show you what I have.

I didn’t take a measurement but the aluminum skid wasn’t too heavy and the weight of the sliders are distributed between the front and rear suspension.

    So totally non-scientific...
But I just ran through an entire tank of fuel on the Cooper ST Maxx. 90 % highway driving i do this drive twice a month. When I get done if I run to empty I can at most get 425ish miles off a tank of fuel.
With the tire being taller I was curious to see what the difference in mileage would be.
After setting the trip to zero at a mile marker I traveled exactly 100 miles and the odometer read 90.1
So simple math says if I travel 400 miles I should in reality travel 440 miles. I was pleasantly surprised at fill up that I put in 21.591 gallons at the start of the trip and at the end I put in 20.424 and according to my trip meter with 10 miles to empty I traveled 376.3 miles.
Basically I'm getting right about the same mileage out of a tank of fuel as I was before on the stock good year tires.
After driving them around, taking them off-road I am very happy with the choice. Now time will tell to see how they wear out as time goes on.
Just got bored on my last drive and I thought I'd share.
    Your results may vary.

I’ve read a lot. Trust me, can’t find an answer. 2009 Tacoma RC SB. Started out stock, with stock steel rims which I believe are offset 32 mm with 4.5 backspace. Switched for Konig oversteer 16x8 with 0 mm offset and 4.5 backspace. I have 265/70/16 now; no sign of anything rubbing. Want to get 255/85/16 for my next set of tires.

I’m putting Bilstein 5100 on this weekend, ome 883 springs, just looking for a bit of a lift up front. I also purchased spidertrax 1.25” spacers to put the offset closer to where it was. I am at 19.5” from hub center up front now, hopefully land at 21” after shocks.

Will the 255’s fit? With the spacers? Should I just get 235/85/16’s? Will 235’s fit with spacers? Has anyone had both sizes on one truck?

I can’t say if your setup for certain will rub but your aftermarket wheels are already pushed out more than stock, spacers will push them out even further. Iirc those stock steel wheel specs are 16x7 30mm offset and close to 5.2” backspace.

400*100/90 = 444.44, small, but if we’re counting points they all matter. :)
