This has been a very helpful thread. I just installed one of those click connect seats in mine tonight. Baby could come at any time now!

Good luck! We are expecting our first in 8 weeks...still haven't pulled the trigger on ours yet. This thread is providing photographic evidence to calm the wife's worries about it not fitting in the taco.

My wife and I are expecting our first in February, so I am looking and researching for my double cab.

I'm leaning towards one of the "travel systems" where it will click between the car seat base and stroller. I will post up some info and pics as my research and testing progresses.

We went with the Graco one. I ended up using the inner latches from the outside seats to keep the base in the middle. I wasn't comfortable using the belt, it didn't seem as sturdy and kind of canted the base, I was able to jerk it around very easily.

I originally got the diono radian rxt. If you have nobody riding next to you it's ok. But the seat has to be pretty much all the way forward and leaned forward for it to fit rear facing. We also got the Chicco bravo travel system with stroller and base. Clicks in and out. And the base is super quick to move from vehicle to vehicle. And it allows the wife to ride next to me with the baby behind her. Definitely recommend that car seat system. Once she is forward facing, the diono is going in and staying in.

Both of my boys are front facing due to their sizes and it’s tight with 2 diono’s; one in the middle and one behind passenger. My wife who’s 5’11” still struggles to fit in front of the forward facing seat; not as bad as rear facing but still not ideal.

crappy phone sunlit pic for reference. Pardon the mess.

I got similar ones at Walmart, I bought a bunch and cut them out to the exact shape of the side and rear windows. Worked good. Except the ones I bought had a temp gauge on them to tell you when the car is too hot for the baby, so I couldn't roll the window down.

That is a great deal given the outlandish price of these. Graco has gotten a lot tighter about the 20% deals through retailers. I think we got the pair for our first through Buy Buy Baby using their 20% off coupon, but by the time our second came they wouldn't do the coupons.

I have a pair of the 4Ever Extend2Fits in my truck. The rear facing wouldn't work behind me, but the front facing seat is fine for most around town type trips. I think anything over 1.5 hours might get miserable for me with my daughter kicking the seat, but otherwise I have nothing but praise.

Since that post I ended up with a pair of Graco 4Ever Extend2Fits and have been very pleased with them.

I bought and returned the Radian as I wasn’t comfortable with the way it mounted.

Thanks for the further insight. My daughter hits 1 next month, so I'll be starting to look around soon enough.

Im looking at a mega cab cummins right now and drooling over the rear leg room. I don't want to give up the tacoma but it would be amazing to have a ton of room

What do you folks use to help alleviate motion sickness? She basically pukes every time she rides in it. Poor kid.
