I am looking for a new Tacoma, probably a TRD Sport, there are some good offers for the 2019 models during September, nonetheless I would like a 2020 because of CarPlay, it is important to me. I have received some attractive offers for a 2020 model, nonetheless I think I will be better waiting a month, there will be more 2020 inventory, maybe some Toyota incentives (better residual and lower money factor) and Black Friday, any feedback on previous years, will there be good offers? I think Toyotaton start towards the end of November as well, I see many reasons to wait but I might be wrong, any feedback will be appreciated, thanks

I would wait for the 2020, and definitely look into the Off Road model over the Sport.

Why do you think Off Road is better?

The Off Road isn't better than the Sport, it is different. I went with an Off Road because I wanted a locker - so that if I ever got stuck I couldn't say "DAMN IT, I SHOULD HAVE GOTTEN ONE WITH A LOCKER!" -- which now means I'll never need/use it.

And I'm in for the financial advice that is most certainly incoming...

Off Road gets you more for your money. However, if you are going to lease then you probably don't plan on keeping it.
Even though the OR is a better value, I still chose the Sport for the suspension, color matched flares and bumper, and the skewp.
It really comes down to what you plan to use the truck for.

I suggest doing your home work and if Off Roading is what you're looking to do the Off Road offers Crawl Control, search that on YOUTUBE.
However if off roading is not what you're looking for the Sport offers a nice hood scoop that does nothing but look better.

But really if you want a 2020, wait til the end of December. The dealerships are more incentivized to sell the vehicles, because it's the end of the year. On the first of the next year they get taxed on all the vehicles that they have in-stock (depending on your state).

The car will be registered in FL, will they be affected by the tax?

What term are you looking for? The 2020 numbers aren’t great right now, obviously the 2019s lease way better. A 2019 sport should be in the low 300s a month to lease.

36 months/12K miles. I have offers for 2019 TRD Sport 4WD for $299 with $0 down (sign & drive), not even the first payment. Do you think those won't be better in November, assuming we have some left. I would expect to see some 2020 offer in late Nov or Dec, thoughts?

That’s a killer deal. It won’t get better than that especially since the 2019s will be gone. To get that deal on a 2020 you’ll have to wait til this time next year.

My 2018 offroad was 343 all in nothing but first due at signing. I’m actually swapping it for a 2019 pro for 353 a month same thing nothing but first due. Also grabbed a Tundra for my father in law for 310 zero at signing. All those deals have been the same for the past few months, so they might improve slightly but if you want a 19 Sport I’d jump on that deal.

The 2020 comes with more LEDs on each headlight, a drivers side power seat and possibly Apple CarPlay with the right package. If you can live with those things for 3 years go for it now.

I just pre-negotiated with another dealer a 2020 TRD Sport 2WD with the Technology and Premium Sport Package with an MSRP of $40,145 for $419 with $0 down (sign &drive), that means 35 payments of $419, that equates to $407. I have always had the rule that 1% of MSRP is a very good deal. They are giving me around $6,000 in discounts. I have explored many dealers and nobody have been better. Should I jump in and lock the deal?

Pay yourself the $400/mo for 5-10 years and then buy a used 2020 for cash and put the rest in your Roth IRA or 401k. Of course if those are already maxed out let me know ;)

I would never pay that much for a 2wd truck.

Both are Stock - built correct from the start.
Awesome deal. I got my 2019 Sport 4x4 three months ago here in Fl for $235, 36/12. I’ve bought cars for 40 years and know to wait til the end of year, but needed the truck when I got it. I got the Sport because I mostly drive on roads, 4x4 because I pull boats often.

If you stay on the blacktop the sport is a great choice .
