Wow. After several years, several Tacomas, and a couple sets of ghetto DIY rear spacers... I’m finally comfortable
    :bananadead:

    Worth every penny.

Ps: the Amazon ass pad is great for long trips, highly recommended.

That's right, hopefully yours will be arriving soon, Canada orders usually take about 7 business days.

Hell yeah, thanks for the review.

All orders have shipped and will arrive on or before Monday.

One makes you feel like your sitting on a slide falling foward. One supports the legs properly and gets you better lumbar support.

Lifting the front of the seat, back of the seat, or both is a preference thing. We are only lifting the front 1-1/4" so the angle is not extreme by any stretch. The main reason Joe at Black Rock Machining made the front spacers was bc the lack of thigh support was causing his back to hurt during longer drives.

I can't say what will help you but I suggest reading through the reviews on this thread and maybe placing a folded towel under your thighs for a 10-20 minute drive to see if you like the added support.

But with any mod, different strokes for different folks.

    Steve

Shipped a few orders this morning and I know a good 5 sets were delivered this week. Let's see those reviews :fingerscrossed:

i see you have a 2013- my '17 seat has my knees up to high, so i see the diff. now- thanks for the info guys.
i have the dreaded long drive discomfort too, and it seems like lifting the rear up on my '17 seats is what will help. i guess the 2nd gen is the other way, but i havent sat in one of those.
i wish toyota would've out those damn power lumbar seats in earlier models like in the new 2020....we sure as hell pay enough for it

The seating position is the same. Driver leg length is not, however. Lol

This seating height/angle sucks for tall guys...lifting the rear of the seat has helped me in the past since I can adjust the seat back to a different angle, but this is a lot better for me. Anything is better than the factory seating angle. (Unless you’re like 5’7-5’9)

You can cut a spacer and unbolt the rear of the seat, place the spacer under the feet and see how it feels to you.
When this mod first appeared everyone loved it, so I used a steel pipe so the bolts could go through it. One trip around the block and I removed them quickly. I forget what thickness I used, but it was equal to what is being sold by others.

The more I sell the more I realize it's not about height. I've sold to people that are 5'-6" all the way up to 6'-4".

I think it's more about inseam and how you adjust your seat to get comfortable. But either way there are simple temporary fixes (towel or stack of washers in the rear) that will let you see what combo is best for you.

Thanks for the order! I'm shipping it out this morning.

Any Mods? One. Maybe two, tops...
    Steve,

I think you are absolutely right, it IS about inseam and how you ADJUST the seat to get comfortable. Like I said before in an earlier post, I am 75” tall, 261 lbs, and 34” inseam. Here are my findings...

First like everyone said before - great packaging, and it is immediately apparent the quality of the machining of the risers. Also, super easy and quick install - literally few minutes per side.

This is what I found. Since Tuesday October 23rd, 2005 - THIS TACO HAS BEEN MY DAILY DRIVER; the very FIRST time I climbed up on the driver seat was super weird - it felt all weird and out of place. Well, in 8 days it will be 14 years to the day that I got my Taco - so MUSCLE MEMORY IS A BITCH.

Took me a few minutes to seat there and take it all in... I adjusted the back seat, I placed it one notch more upright. Kept looking around and feeling it, let me tell you, at 6'4" I thought I was going to hit the roof liner with me head - NOPE! as crazy as it sounds, I added 1 1/2" to the height of the seat but MY total height did NOT change much.

Then the greatest realization happened - it's hard to explain - but the ANGLE of the seat change the way I seat on it (DUH!!), instead of having my hamstrings kind of OFF the seat, now they have fuller support AND now I really feel like I am seating (my whole torso) resting directly on my butt-cheeks. Additionally, it really feels like a Lazy Boy.

Went for several drives throughout the weekend, and I must say that the more I drive the more I love the new position. This new angle plus my power lumbar support is awesome - it feels like I'm driving a NEW TRUCK altogether... I am falling in love with my Taco all over again.

I have to climb a little higher now to get on the seat, amazingly it does not change the overall height too much, its weird. Bottom line, this is an awesome mode IMHO.

What a great review, thank you! I've got to say thats one of the cleanest 2nd gens I've every seen, nice work on keeping it pristine. Gotta give props to Joe and Black Rock Machining for the design and machining, he really hit it out of the park with these risers.

Plenty in stock and ready to ship. Unusually ship same day.

    Thanks,
    Steve

I have no personal connection to this seller or product in any way, shape, or form other than as a very satisfied customer.

I’ve already posted when I first got these but I think it’s worth saying again because this product literally changed everything for me concerning my relationship to the truck. Honestly not an overstatement.

When I first bought the truck, I pretty quickly realized I hated the seat position. I’m only 5’ 8” and I like sitting up high when I drive. Used to have the seat on my old tundra almost maxed so I felt like I was sitting on the floor in the Tacoma.

One of the first things I did was to buy rear risers to increase the seat height. It worked, I could see over the hood better, and I was happy for a while until I started getting some pretty severe knee pain in my right leg after long drives. And I mean Really bad to the point where my knee was swelling.

I couldn’t understand what was going on until I realized that there was no support under my leg. The way the seat angle had changed with the rear risers, had my leg positioned in limbo and my knee was taking the brunt of the pressure without the support of the seat. When I stumbled on this thread I was a little hesitant to pull the trigger because I wasn’t sure it would fix the problem and I didn’t want to throw the money away on something I wasn’t sure would work, but it got so bad I decided to take the chance out of desperation.

So fast forward to now and I am so happy I did! This was a game changer for me. I honestly could not have continued to drive the truck as it was without making some sort of drastic change to the seat situation. It was so bad I had started to seriously contemplate trading it in.

For me the magic combo was the rear and front risers together. Seat position could not be more comfortable now. Yes they’re expensive but they are a hell of a lot cheaper than power seats or a new truck. If you’re having similar issues, give this a try. It might be just the thing you’re looking for.

I just purchased a 3rd gen Tacoma and one of the things that bothers me is the position of the handbrake handle in the centre console. My last truck had the twist & pull handle in front of your right knee. During my daily commute of 100km per day in the new truck my right leg is always digging into the end of the brake handle and has become rather uncomfortable when I relax during the drive. I'm a bigger guy so my legs are thick and wide. I have positioned a round pipe insulation foam piece over the handle and this has helped but looks like crap. I have noticed the seat has left me feeling like the part under my legs seems to not support me well enough. Kinda like the foam is too weak. I have just purchased a set of these after reading 3 or 4 pages of the reviews from other buyers. I am hoping this will be the solution to both my issues with the 3rd gen seat. I will update and review once I have them installed.
