Lol, you’re right. I was using the converter which was using the mpg (UK). My bad

Salmon Arm BC is lower in elevation than Calgary so technically he climbed heading home

The trip was to Kimberly, BC @ 1120 m elevation. Calgary is at 1045m, a difference of 75m.
It’s definitely fair to say I went west fighting a head wind and came back with it pushing me, but only from about Calgary to Canmore and visa versa.

But sure is a hell of a lot of ups and downs over them Rockies.

Just buy a Prius and be done with it. Just kidding. A lot has to do with driving habits.

'19 Off-road with 800 miles on it. I've averaged about 19.5, with 90% of my driving hwy. I'm hoping it picks up a bit as everything breaks in (at least a little bit). I commute about 70ish miles a day, so a little fuel savings adds up for me.

No matter how I slice it, it is a lot better than the 13.5mpg I was averaging in my Dodge. The fuel is about $0.35/gal cheaper too.

The times I have checked it, it has been +/- .2 mpg. I have made several posts with photos of the cluster to show mileage between fillups, and the gas pump to show fuel used.

I have only caught it being off once. I towed a heavy load and used ECT, and it read high. Otherwise it has been spot on.

    It's told me I'm getting 30mpg for some areas..absolutely not. I'm on 32s and I get mid 18s.

How did it drive through the mountains ? I made that trip on vacation in in 2018 (not in a tacoma) and those mountains would be a great test.

22.2 according to fuelly. Stock. I expect it to go down soon with winter fuel, though. That reminds me, I need to put some air in those tires with the dropping temps...

17.5 combined all stock except for 265 75 16 and sliders. When it was bone stock I was getting 20.5 combined

I'd take a small hit on mpg for some sliders!

I think I’ve seen you and others get the same results. That’s better than mine. What’s your average tank mpg? Mine’s consistently about 1mpg optimistic. It’ll read 26.0 for a tank that fuelly measures to be 25.2–that was my last fill up. I wonder if it’s just how well the algorithms respond to your driving style. I don’t really know how the CPU calculates the MPG in real time to begin with. Edit: clarity

Mine is consistently off by 0.5 mpg (e.g. readout is 23.0 and calcs come out to 22.5)

Weird how they are all different, on my last fill up the dash readout said 21.7 and it hand calculated to 21.8. The single trip meter that pops up when you turn the truck off can have a wild variation of numbers though.
