How do kings 2.5 bypass shocks feel compared to normal kings 2.5s?

Got damn. If this isn’t convincing enough to throw a full suspension on my credit card, Idk what is.

Verg nice build so far. I’m debating between getting rid of stock and throwing on a small lift or saving up and going full Kings...

    BONE Stock.... I Swear!
That's been my philosophy... It takes a lot longer, but has allowed me to do a lot of research, come up with a kit I know will work for my needs, and allow me to pay off more than half the truck loan in my first year! (Now just waiting for this 3-week backorder on the King Fronts... sitting super ass-high currently lol)!

    Hey guys,

I just purchased the Level 2 (2.5" Ext. w reservoirs and compression adjusters) 650lb coils, and OME HD springs from Headstrong Off-Road. A couple questions regarding the "out of the box" height. I am looking to achieve a 2" lift front and back. I know with the OME HD leaf pack I should get that, my concern is the front. I am installing the lift next week and was wondering what have you guys been getting height wise with install straight from the box? I called Kings and they said out of the box I should get that with no weight in the front. Just seeing if anyone has run it straight from the box. Thanks!

@Austin91 right out of the box for my kings 2.5 650lb i had 1.5 inch in the front, but i did not order it from headstrong so maybe they do the adjustments for u. Even if it doesnt come out at 2.5 inch, if you get a t handle from king its pretty easy increasing the preload while the kings are installed in the truck.

Just measure it from center of hub to fender on a flat surface

Well, I just pulled the trigger this morning on some Kings.. Super excited! Didn't get the adjusters but I don't think I'll be missing out.. Ordered my JBA UCA's and will be using an Icon RXT leaf pack.. 3-4 weeks is going to kill me until they come in!

I have Kings w/ adjusters and ome medium duty leafs in the rear.

I noticed when my bed is loaded with weight (rtt, bedrack, camping gear) I experience oscillation on a section of highway in my city. When the bed is unloaded it’s very minimal. Any tips on how to fix this? Should I install another leaf in the rear?

    Lift and cap so far...
If you're talking about vertical oscillation, use your adjusters. Tighten them up a bit and that will stop. Same happened to me towing a boat but goes away when you adjust them for the increased weight

With the HD leaves you'll get closer to 3 inches in the rear if you don't have much weight back there. I have the mediums and they still gave me 2.5 with an ARE cap on (both were + spec'd though)

Ordered kings front and back last night, non-adjustable... and then read alot of this thread and decided I would always question not having adjusters, and figured if I had to send them in to get them added it would be a pita.

I want it pretty soft, so I went ahead and cancelled the order and went with adjustable front and back! Just didn't want any what ifs... I'm sure it would have been %100 fine though for anyone who is on the fence or just ordered.

Got a bit of work ahead of me, it'll all be DIY, except for mount/balance/align, I'll leave that to the pros with good equipment -

    Gunmetal F5s in 17/-10 offset
    285 duratracs D rated
CMC plates coming, chop chop weld weld
    Kings 2.5 adjustable
Camburg balljoints, new bolts to make it easier/less damage install
4.88s (nervous about the install but if I get all the tools I'm somewhat confident and excited)
Just a 1.5" block in the rear for now, we'll see how it rides, couldn't quite justify the extra cash, esp since shipping up here is ridiculous

Wish me luck ;) everything is getting barged up, so it might be a while. Looking forward to joining the club, I'll post pics!

If you don't hear from me again, it means my wife killed me.

Upgrading to Adjusters down the road can get very pricey, so it is a good idea to get them up front if it's in the budget. King adjusters are good for small adjustments, but if you are wanting a much softer ride, then revalving the shock is the way to go. Here is some more info on the King Adjusters

What spring rate does everyone recommend for a 2018 Offroad with full steel skids (RCI front, tranny, and transfer case) and no other mods? Don't plan on any future mods other than possibly a larger battery (not dual battery, just maybe a single 27F) and possibly sliders. 600 lb springs or 650 lb springs? I'm leaning towards 600 given my set up, but want to hear from the experts.

Btw, I am considering extended travel fronts with no adjusters, extended travel rears with no adjusters, SPC upper control arms, and medium Dakars. Looking to get around 2" up front and around 1.5"-2" in the back.

    Thanks in advance.

I went with the standard 600# springs. I have steel skids and sliders btw.. Haven't installed them yet but from what I've read from Accutune's atricles, the 600# springs are ideal.. If not, then I'll swap them out. I also plan on 2" front, but I have JBA UCAs and Icon RXT leaf packs on the way..

Thanks brotha. I just needed moral support to back up my opinion. I'll go with 600.

I was in your same position.. Ordered with the standard 600# and almost had buyer's remorse.. Some people will say go heavier, but I trust what @AccuTune Offroad says. Their articles are on point. If I didn't get the deal I did on mine, I would have ordered from them.
