Hello All, I'm new hear. Just got a 19 Pro this week and love it. I discovered this site yesterday and been reading a bit. I saw in one of the Sticky Threads (Tips and Tricks) started in 2016 which includes models all the way up to 2019 some issues on the Tacos. Low oil in trans, loose U-Bolts on rear axle 4x's and lack of lube in the U-Joints at delivery. Are these issues still common today? If so, are there any others that may exist that the forum has discover. Also, what is the price range on the OVTunes? Thanks All

Aren't these issues you should have made yourself comfortable with before purchase?

    Welcome Mark

I checked my truck and found no problems but... ya don’t know till ya check.

Why not check yourself? Is it going to make you sleep better knowing that SOMEONE ELSE'S truck isn't having the issues you're asking about?

Congrats. They say every truck is different but I have an '18 and didnt have those issues. My biggest headache was the TSS. Toyota eventually fixed it under warranty. I didn't even have the infamous taco lean on mine

He already stated he JUST found this site. So clearly he had no knowledge of said issues. Nothing you said was helpful.

Still doesn't mean you shouldn't research a vehicle long before you consider purchasing it.

Agree, but to be fair. Most review sites will never address or even come close to touching these issues. They talk about the crap most regular drivers care about like seat comfort and looks.
Although there are some places you could find that info, google has a tendency to drive you towards the plus sides to most vehicles

When I bought my SR 4x4 manual I did zero research because I already knew it was going to be exactly how it had always been. Awesome. Then I joined this site to get info on it from people who knew more than me. Boy was I wrong lol

(Edit, to remove quote, not really appropriate for my response)

I owned a 2009. Before I purchased a 2018 I researched it online at various sites, including TW. I didn't become a member of TW until after I purchased it.

Worry about the shortcomings of the Tacoma before you buy it is the smart choice to make. But hey, it's only money.
If I decided my truck was a lemon, I can afford to replace it. But can you afford to replace yours?

Dont worry about the d*ckheads on the forum. I have a 19 pro as well and havent had any issues with any of those things.

@daveometrod when you buy a car you join every online forum beforehand and read for countless hours before purchasing a new vehicle? Get real

The differential howl, A/C whistle, and 25-15 mph deceleration vibration are still common, yes, but I strongly feel that these are -- as Toyota puts it -- "characteristic of the vehicle". Annoying, yes, but nothing to worry about.
