What Have You Done To Your 3rd Gen Today?

Same thing here. Wasn't looking new. But for the deal i got it was a no brainer. Used cars are worth the buy. Used trucks??? Not around here. Unless you just are topped out at the price.

 

Took this yesterday on my drive! Yes, i pulled into a parking lot as not to take a pic while driving!

 

I just finished wire brushing frame, spray on rust stop, etching primer and 4 coats of spray enamel. This is how Toyota should’ve done the frames from the get go. Oh then 3 hours of clay bar and washing to finish it off. Pretty pleased with outcome on this 2016 SR with 68k on the odometer.

 

The Leds on these are amber. No film. I have heard the film is just cosmetic and not effective

 

One easy mod this morning and saving the other one for when I have a little more time.

 

My Truck is at the Dent Doctor right now to have the dent removed from the accident 3 weeks ago in our yard. Also the new left Bumper piece and my black Bumper Covers came too. I will fix the Bumper and install black bumper Covers. No more Chrome....Woo Hoo.

I like those lights.. I just can't find a good place on truck to install them... Only if i had a "roll bar"

 

Why did you choose for the bed mount vs under the hood? I think the bed mount is probably more accessible and also a less harsh environment (not as hot) as under the hood. But, running power is probably more of an install challenge. Interested in your pros and cons.

 

EE conveniently makes a harness for the installation here.

Not yet...but my SOS concepts sliders are ready for pickup and I was hoping to install it this weekend or the next...or sometime before the snow gets here. I was hoping someone can help?

I was thinking to have 4wp do it...

 

My neighbor had this bed rack he was getting rid of, told me $20. I put it on to see how I like it. If it stays on then I’ll sand and paint it. I think it is a rack made by Tuff Stuff, 36” front bar to rear and 15” tall. The front bar and rear bar are same height, just an optical illusion that the rear looks taller.

Thinking of adding a Ham radio and get my liscense. Anyone have any advice regarding ham radios?
