The one issue that has been a problem over the years and is still a problem with Tacomas is that some suffer frame rust through.
If you plan to keep it for a long time then you may wish to consider some pro-active measures for your frame.
There are quite a few threads on TW about that issue and what some members do about it.
I would suggest reading those because if you choose to be pro-active, a new clean frame would be great to start with.

Yes, I did hours of research WITHOUT joining a single forum. As I stated earlier, I joined TW AFTER purchasing my 2018. I didn't need to come here after purchase to find potential issues, I knew them before purchase. Seems to be the smart way to do things, but hey let's get real HUH?

Level 8 Wheels, Bilstien/Eibach lift, 2" aal, blacked out rear bumper, AC drain hose relocation, sound deadening 4 doors and back wall, amp/speaker upgrade, 10" daytona sub, LED interior lights.
I have an 18, definitely tighten the u bolts to 80lb, watch for rear diff leaking/weeping, keep an eye on the wireless charger bubbling up, tss system may need an update. These are things I have had to do since getting mine in March. One of the preventative things I have done was extend my ac drain hose. I really like my truck, some people gripe about everything but I really have not had much problems that Toyota didnt take care of with warranty.

Research? There is so much BS on this forum and others it is extremely hard to tell what applies or does not apply to today's vehicles. I owned a 2006 Tacoma TRD Off Road and did some research, and despite much of what I read I traded for 2019 Tacoma TRD Offroad 4x4 over six months ago, based on the history I had with the 2006. Then there are the consumer groups that downgraded the 3rd Gen Tacoma's because of some initial problems that were simply resolved by the dealer resetting or updating systems.

I can now factually say much posted on the forums or web pages lacks information, many folks have no idea what they are talking about, too many myths exist, and then there are the DA that want to prove how knowledgeable they are and provide a very rudimentary post on the basics - yet can't answer the question.

6 month + old 2019 Tacoma TRD Offroad 4x4 - zero, none, nada issues.

I like this guy. ^ He gets it.

I own an FJ and am just waiting for my Pro to show up in 5 days. (bites nails waiting)

If I had listened to all the experts on the FJ forum before buying I'd have lost my mind.
Collapsing fenders, shattering rear ends, stock tires that supposedly couldn't get you out of a flat dry parking lot in 4 lo with the diff locked according to them, and this and that that you just had to do or the truck would implode, I'd have never bought it. But I did buy it and aside from some minor issues fixed under warranty, loved every second.

I expect the 2020 Pro getting here soon will be the same.

I sure did. It was all part of researching a ~$40K new vehicle purchase.

Its only money, but if I dropped a one and it blew away in the wind I'd be pissed, even more if it were almost $40K. I ain't rich enough to just blow away that much money.

How did you come to these conclusions? Just out of thin air? Doubt it, you were on here, reading and what not, realized people are "lacking info" or "have no idea what they're talking about" and realized that "too many myths exist." I think we can both agree that that is a type of research. Wether or not it answered every or any question that you had is something else.
