I'm going to be upset if Seth's Bike Hacks doesn't upload a video today.

yesterday actually, but I'm simply going to browse, not buy anything...maybe...

I just kinda want to see prices on some general biking/camping/etc stuff. I've also never been to an REI.

REI sells five tens so....that's gonna be hard to resist....but I do like that I'll at least be able to try on before ordering.

not a single other store in town sells MTB shoes that aren't clipless that I know of.

I agree, aside from the reviews from pros (like Seth) who have said how much better the five tens are than a pair of vans. that they will last long enough you'd buy enough pairs of vans to match the cost or more and your five tens would still be good to go, plus they incorporate hiking in them and walking on trails...whereas skate shoes don't, and skate shoes aren't waterproof or anything if you come across water or puddles or whatever.

I also personally would only be buying vans for biking...so...not really multi use for me.

    tis true. tis very true.

but, to spend <$150 for a pair of the BEST MTB shoes that'll last years and take all the abuse you throw at them...that seems worth it to me.

haha I totally get that. I struggle with that too, and I call it a struggle on purpose because it's not hard...but because I dislike it. I want to be good at what I do, but time usually keeps you from being great at a lot. the best at something usually only do that one something, or very similar items that benefit both.

like I currently spend time/money on the Tacoma, MTB, video games, ultimate frisbee, and house stuff. pretty much my main interests and even though it's not many...it's not easy or cheap to do them all lol

we haven't missed the RTT either, but would really like to get a good ground tent so that we do at least have the option of going camping. right now we don't really, I have a cheapo little coleman ground tent that's only like 2 feet high setup so I hate that thing unless I'm by myself. it is hard to balance the different things. also trying to save for a ring....sucks..
