yeah I guess everyone’s eyes are different. I would never use them as maps. I have a blue LED in my dome now and it’s good, just not bright enough.

Just checked and the red dome is available on his website. I just got them yesterday in the mail. Installing it in a few minutes although I changed them out to white SMD lights going to piggyback the two separate panels and use one festoon adapter. I have about 10 of the white SMD 48 LED panels and popped them in to the MESO housing. Had them when I changed out the old festoon bulbs in the Yaris dome light. Going to use the others in the Buick dome light. Thinking of changing out the map lights in the Verano and see if they will fit under the diffusers. The red I am setting aside just in case.

I'm sure this has probably already been discussed on here, but do these require an upgraded fuse?

I've had my MESO map and dome lights installed for about 3 weeks now. I noticed this morning when I opened the doors that none of them came on. I proceeded with trying to manually turn them on and got nothing....and yes I messed with the interior light rocker switch (Off/Door Open/On).

I haven't looked into wiring yet, but with none of them working, the only thing I could think of is a fuse blew.

    Anybody else had this problem?

Theoretically these should not require a larger fuse. LEDs take up much less wattage compared to the stock incandescent bulbs, so even with all those LEDs together it should be fine. If they did require a larger fuse it would have blown it right away and not after the three weeks.

The only thing I can think of for you to check is to see if the connectors fell out of the sockets.

If it's not that, we might need to get @MESO in on this.

    Thanks @CttAznRanger

I agree with everything you said. I wouldn't have thought a fuse would be an issue at all, but it was the only thing that made sense for all of them to not be working. It definitely has to be wired in parallel and not series....so if one light goes out they don't all go out.

I can troubleshoot a little more after work.

Check out this video, should start at the right time to describe what I believe might be your issue.

They are now injection molded, no longer 3D printed.

You can find just the panels on Amazon, I just ordered a set of white to replace the reds I’ve been running for about a year.

If you have one going out email him with your order number and he will likely take care of you. Thats what I did when I had an issue with my maps and he sent me brand new boards to install.

Any update on if/when 2nd gen domes will be available?

Have the map lights already, feel the need to "get both".

As long as the pattern is the same should be okay. I got two 12 (3X4) SMD for the front and two 48 SMD for the rear. If you do some more digging you should find them in two packs instead of buying 4. I’m just taking a chance here but the ones I ordered seem to be the same. Will know for sure when they arrive, and for 20$ shipped for all 4 I’ll be okay if they don’t work at all. The rears will require some soldering to join the wiring from the two panels to one adapter for the dome light. If you look at your MESO rear dome you’ll see how to solder the two panels together.

These appear to be 36 SMD so no they definitely wouldn’t work. Need 48 for the rear and 12 for the front.

Hey that piggyback definitely works too! Cool to see someone else mod their mod as well lol.

After a year the red is kinda pain in the ass, it’s hard to find things when my whole interior is dark colours; black on brown.

So I figured out what happened. The fuse did blow because of the dome light. I have a sunroof in my tacoma, so the dome light is towards the back of the cab and not the middle. The fake bulb that the MESO light comes with doesn't fit in this style dome contact. I remembered it being awkward during the install and having to bend up in order to fit. This must have shifted and contacted metal causing the fuse to blow.

To be clear...the dome housing is the same size, so the actual light itself fits....just the contact is much smaller where the typical bulb would go.

Now for the real question, is there an option to purchase a MESO dome light with a smaller fake bulb or am I just going to have to modify it?

Again this may have already been mentioned, but I don't want to read through this 306 page thread to find out. @MESO might be good to know, since I'm not sure how many taco's on here have the sunroof.
