I leased the 2019 version of this exact truck configuration minus the advanced tech. Money factor on my lease was a bit higher than I would have liked. Did you get any $$ incentive? Maybe not given its a 2020 but they were offering $750 cash back at the time of my purchase in April. I applied that to cap reduction.

Regardless whether you finance or lease, you're going to love the truck. Congrats!

 

Yes, it will. New model year vehicles especially Toyota are not discounted very much because the market for them is HUGE. Don't blame the dealers. Blame John and Joe who consistently pay more for a Tacoma. Resale is nice but you should get that Benefit leasing a Tacoma. Not the dealer.

You can get a lot of really nice lease deals on luxury vehicles for $500 a month. Tacoma is not one of them at that rate.

One of the major benefits of leasing is you are only paying for the depreciation which is the same whether leased or bought. No worries about trade-in or reselling. Just drop it off and pick out another, We leased a 2014,2017, and now 2019 CRV Touring. No worries about accidents. They still have to take it back in a few years and we lease another.

With leasing, you only pay for the car you use. When buying the payments can be twice as long. I don't know about you but I don't want to make payments on a 4-6 year old vehicle.

 

Seriously, no offense, but that’s just ignorant advice. I just sold my Tacoma lease for the buyout price at 1.5 years into a 3 year lease. I also just leased a 2020 Tundra SR5 sport for 360 dollars a month. That’s a 49k truck for 24mos and 15k a year. You can’t say that leases are horrible when you don’t understand them depending on the deal. Perfect for me an others depending on the situation.

Ah yeah, you can't afford to buy the truck, so leasing is a good deal. Yeah I guess, for people who don't make enough to buy the truck and who want to look like they make more than they do. Never mind anyone who knows anything about economics knows, leasing is always a losing proposition. You never end up right side up no matter what your spurious claims are.

 

You have no idea what kind of financial situation I’m in, let alone anything about the economics of leasing. I’ll leave it there for ya big shot. From my understanding, it's because the down payment is basically just pre-paying the lease, there's no money saved.

That isn't a problem necessarily, but if you were to wreck the truck that money goes poof, like a fart in a hurricane.

Just wanted to update everyone that I ended up getting a 2020 Tacoma TRD Pro Auto in MGM.

My payments on a 3 year 36k lease are $550 per month with $1k down. I think I did pretty good on the deal considering the MSRP on the Pro was a lot higher than the TRD Off-Road I was originally looking to get.

Nope no dancing involved. My company pays the lease up to $450 per month so it will cost me $100 per month out of pocket.

I was not aware there were so many lease haters on this forum. I have leased a new vehicle for the past 14 years. I get a new one every 3 years and most of the time it does not cost me a cent.

 

Anyone gotten a lease that had a higher mileage allowance than the typical 12-15k miles per year? I drive 20k miles per year and also like to personalize my vehicles and make it my own. Two things that have kept me away from leases.

 

No hate just think you left some money on the table your money as depreciation on that truck is somewhere around 15k in 3 years.

 

They’ll get their money from your company and a little bit from you and turn around and sell it for 35k on the used lot in three years. Paying 110 for a truck seems like a good proposition to me. You most likely won’t even have to rebuild the shocks before you turn it in.

 

OP is paying $100 per month for a brand new 2020 TRD pro. Everyone here can suck a dick

You could damn near finance the thing for $508 a month, however I wouldn’t feel comfortable buying a $45 truck with only $3k down. You’re prolly better off waiting and saving or looking at something cheaper.

We came out way ahead purchasing our leased Honda Element because the residual was way underestimated. The trick is finding something that ends up having much higher demand than anyone thought.

The beauty of it was we knew it was mechanically sound before we bought. Now it has 191k and my daughter still drives it to school

 

Lol the vehicle is a perk of the job. I offer this to my employees and if they don’t want the vehicle I give them a 5k raise...in the end he’s paying for it.
