Has anyone used the 3m double sided tape as a substitute to the Oem foam pads after removing the front fender?. Tape is about $10 compared to the Oem pads which are $25 for one fender roughly without shipping from Toyota.

I would think you could use 3M if it's roughly the same thickness as the OEM pads. I would call 3M, ask for their automotive customer service rep., he or she could tell you which specific double sided tape to use.

3M is top notch, when I was a fleet painter we used alot of 3M products and their rep would visit every few months. Their tape, sandpaper and masking paper were the best $$ could buy.

3M should work great, it’s practically the same as oem. However, you’ll have to trim down the 3M as the oem strips are very narrow-less than 1/4 in. I recently had to replace a flare due to Safelite scraping it up during a chip repair. They paid for the parts, of coarse. Heat gun and lots of goo gone will be your friend
