Aight got some better pics. IMG_20191017_211521197.jpg
Top left is the PLC. This is whats programmed via computer and executes the main task. In effect, this can take the place of a lot of relays, counters, timers etc.

The thing labeled "Siemens" is a timer/counter module. Im using it to count how many cans have been crushed in a single cycle.

Next to it is the 24v DC power supply. Takes 120, spits out 24v. All my controls utilize 24v.

Barely seen to the top right is a fuse block, just there to protect the 120 going in.

Bottom left is a 11 pin socket relay. Im using it to trigger the counter. Everytime the relay pulls in, the count goes up by one. It will be fired by a limit switch on the air cylinder that does the crushing. Everytime the cylinder cycles, one can is crushed, limit switch is activated, count goes up by one.

On the right of the terminal blocks is the main disconnect. IMG_20191017_211529794.jpg

Front of the panel, pic is upside down for some reason but you get the point.
    IMG_20191017_211541136.jpg

    Center is the E Stop.

Middle row right is a selector. Will select between auto or single cycle.

To the left of it is the green "on" button. Also functions as a light.

To the right is the red "stop" button. Again has a light.

Then a black pushbutton, used to start the crush cycle.

On top is a yellow light, used to signify that a can(s) is/are present in the hopper and that the cycle can be run.

@Blue92 Do those power supplies come in 12v flavors? What kind of amperage can they do?

Industrial controls very seldom utilize 12v. Only heard of it being used on some super old stuff. Skys the limit on amperage. Mine does 2.5, ones at school are 5. Large panels will have them as high as 10 or more. All depends on what youre running. But if you need more than 5, Id just switch to 120v controls.

Well one small truck related victory accomplished...changed out the power steering fluid and scraped the top of the screen clean (I think...didn't remove the reservoir), but its quiet again now

Just curious because I'm wondering if something like that would be appropriate for my lightbar collection. My largest and most vintage one draws 26 Amps @ 12v. I have a computer power supply I can use for this, but I wanted to use that for a different project instead.
