Was wondering if you bowhunt from a saddle? If so, do the ropes get in the way of drawing back?

Anyone know what kind of animal makes this sound? Was on an elk hunt in the ruby mountains and whatever was making this sound came about 25 yards from me. Never did get my eyes on it but I could here it moving around or else I would have just thought some type of bird...(May be best with headphones and volume all the way up my phones mic sucks, also it was like 4am so pitch black that's why there is no video)

Also headed out for a bull elk hunt in northern NV on sunday. Will be sleeping in this "tarptent protrail" when packed in anyone have experience with them? Set it up in my front yard it seems legit and only weight 26oz, uses trekking poles as tent poles which I already use as hiking sticks and also shooting sticks when need be. Cant beat a product that serves three purposes when hunting out of a pack.

Went and pulled cards today, have 3 wildgame innovations cameras, one of them took forever to turn off. Turns out the card in it had almost 5,000 pictures. It was taking a picture every minute for three days. Ugh, I’m done with wildgames cheap stuff. Any recommendations on a decent camera less than $100?

I have a Tasco from Walmart, it was around $28. It does the job pretty well but has no battery life indicator.:anonymous:

Browning makes excellent cameras for the money. $80-$180 they have several models. I have 9 and my buddy has about 20 and we’ve had very few issues. Go to Trailcampro.com they do very intense field testing and reviews and they are not biased towards any particular brand. If you buy from them you get a 2 year warranty versus the 1 year factory warranty.

saw 7 or 8 deer tonight, had a group of doe, fawns etc and this buck came out and smelled where another doe Pee'd and did the lip curl! I was watching in the bino's and readjusted just in time to see the huge doe get on two legs and run the buck off!!!!! I almost shot the doe just because of that! I didnt get to see the buck really good because he was 275yds away and it was getting dark and the dumb doe ran him off! I was going to shoot him if he looked big enough...

I currently use a crossbow much more than my compound but I still use it every once in a while and used to use it more. It is 34" axle to axle so it is longer than most and I haven't had problems.

You would definently be more limited on where you can shoot if you couldn't move around the tree and turn around but I can turn around so my chest is facing damn near straight down and I can move atleast 180° around the tree.

It takes some getting used to but I can shoot in any direction out of it and since you can move around quite a bit you can shoot around some limbs with different angles you wouldn't be able to in a tree stand.

Along with them bright lighter and more comfortable imo it is my primary hunting method
