    So i have the choice of a ls1/ ls3 or a 1gr i can turn into a supercharged 4.3 stroker. I am going to put it in a regular cab rock crawler that will be used in utah and every once and a while I will drive it around to get groceries and such. Should i build the 1gr or do a ls swap?

    I guess the real question is, how much money and time do you want to spend? The 1gr seems like the cheapest and fastest rout, but an Ls would be bad ass!

    Money wise I'd like to stay below 9k but could go up to 11k and time wise no more then 5-6 weekends.

    damn that’s a tight window of time! I’d say 1gr based off of time alone. You’ll get more time to dial everything in and make it perfect.

    The only problem is my taco is a 2.7 so the 1gr would be a swap as well.

    Internals and turbo on the current engine. Better platform than the 1GR. Cheaper, and has a pedigree of being able to go higher than 700 HP.

    1GR built would be a fairly easy swap though. Frames are the same. Maybe the frame mounts for the engines are the same?

    So, with the mention of a supercharged stroker motor, I decided to look into stroker cranks. Holy crap! ~5K for the stroker stuff + ~5K for the supercharger is $10K and the OP still doesn't have a 1GR-FE to start with, or the wiring or the ECU or the transmission or...
