MT, but I have never personally driven the AT. However, with all the bitching here on TW I pat myself on the back for getting the MT. It is VERY smooth and frankly I enjoy driving my truck daily

I drove my buddies 19 OR AT and i was very pleased with how it drove. It works well and no "hunting" or whatever people complain about. I think people just have different expectations.

I did feel like the manual was smooth. I wanted some more throttle response from it, but the clutch and shifter all felt great.

Naw this thing has a Camry motor, and even middle aged Elizabeth in accounting doesn't want her Camry to have a manual transmission. She knows better because she has a Miata at home with a manual transmission.

When she's driving the Camry she's called Elizabeth

When's she's driving the Miata she's called Liz she said that name sounds more fun

Throttle response does not bother me or I haven't noticed. Now, a gripe of mine with the MT is the reverse ratio. It seems geared way to high and does not like backing up a load.

But you could do 30 mph donuts in reverse. Gotta stay positive, man.

See far less complaints from the MT than the Auto crowd (even if we are in the minority and fewer in numbers). Even if it does mean sacrificing touch less entry, push button start, ECT, Crawl Control, JBL, Long Bed, etc. etc. MT is still worth it in my book.

Plus manuals are a dying breed so you have to get while the getting is good.

    this question is asked everyday

if you can drive manual the manual is mechanically the better choice comes with better gears. Also more fun. If you wheel/mud your truck it takes getting used too.

I have not really spent any time offroad besides a jeep a few times and maybe one or two other trucks briefly. So what I'm saying is I would be mostly learning from scratch if I offroad in a Tacoma 6MT. I did learn to drive in a manual and have owned many.

Is it me or is it just the hard on MT crowd that complains about AT, As well as the people who sell the tacoma for a full size who shouldn't have gotten a taco in the first place?
