Nice work! What are the dimensions of the rear cargo area?

 

Outside dimensions are 42x30x11

 

So I guess the box that I built wouldn't work for an FJ. I believe it is 40.5"x 33" x 8 or 9"....

Interesting the different width. I kind of figured only the length would be different.

 

yea, i did a lot of measuring to make sure I made it as big as possible. Width wise anything over 42 wouldn't work, could probably go up to 31 deep if it was shallow..say 8" the problem is hitting the rear seats as they lean back also the gate has more room lower than it does as you get taller, if that makes sense. Should end up with 2 drawers that are about 18w x 28d x 9h....which should hold a lot of shit...lol

These are a good balance of price and performance. 100lbs rating for each drawer. I'm sure if you put 2 sets on a single drawer, you would have a capacity over 200lbs....just a little overkill, as one set per drawer should be plenty.

Heard about it and I think I saw one in that other thread that you pointed me to. I think it's a good idea, but a potential source of rattle if you don't get them seated just right.
