I hauled 7 70# boxes to FedEx late afternoon yesterday. The truck actually did not look saggy in the butt. The HD boxes with bike transmissions fit perfectly. That was a ton of work. Made a huge sale, so mo money for mods!!

Threw my chikin wire (chicken war) grill in the waste bin for pick-up today. hahahahaa come get it!!

Have some 5 HP decals and my custome battery hold'em to install today.

And I am heading to Mule Expedition Outfitters this AM (Anything you want me to ask?)

After searching the internet for a solution to RTT storage and seeing people spent hundreds on powered winches, manual winches, Racor system I just couldn’t get myself to spend the money. My solution was $16 for the four pack of heavy duty straps rated at 766 lbs each and four eye bolts for $3. So less than $20 bucks. Lol.

It’s really quite simple. I purchased four eye bolts and a set of straps. Found the beams in the ceiling and made sure I was centered on each beam before drilling pilot holes. Screwed in the eye bolts. Connected the straps and used the small winch on each strap to lift it up. It was very easy. After I got it up using two straps I put two more straps in a cross pattern to keep it secure from sliding out of place.

The fun part will be lowering it back onto the bed rack. Lol. I might put a floor jack in the truck bed with a wood beam up to the RTT to let it lower slowly. Haven’t got that far yet. Lol. If you have any ideas on how to lower it slowly let me know.

Morning braintrust, I have a question for those of you that actually take your trucks off road (no offense mallcrawlers)

I'm currently running 285/75r16 (33) but as soon as I can get my 1st gen sold the 285/75r17 (34) will be mounted on the new rig. Wheels are 8.5 wide, 0 offset, 4.75 BS. I also have a set of 1.25 and .75 wheel spacers in case I need to clear the UCA. The question is: is a cab mount chop sufficient to clear or do I need to go ahead and do a full relocate? Obviously, I'd rather just CMC cause it'll be easier, but not afraid to cut if need be; my 1st gen has tubbed firewall and cut fenders. To be clear, what I mean is will the tire rub at full stuff/turn?

    Thx guys

Ditch brackets mounted where, by the hood hinges? or somewhere else? If by the hood hinges, i think the physical size of the light is too big and would probably be an interference for the view?

You Shouldn’t need the spacers. That set up shouldn’t hit the UCA. You should be able to get away with not having to CMRelocate. A very aggressive chop and plenty of trimming, as well as a spot on alignment would be key.

If for whatever reason you end up needing a spacer, I would use the smallest one possible, because as you push wheels out, you will further creat issues rubbing on the cab mount and fenders.

I was hoping to hear that. I forgot to mention that I'll be running SPC UCAs when the time comes. I've been running them on the 1st gen for years and they definitely help get the alignment/wheel location I needed. Also, good to hear you think the BS on the wheels will work. The suspension geometry is completely different between the two generations, and a spacer was mandatory on the 1st gen.

    Thanks

even better with the SPC’s. Alignment should be ON POINT. No need for CMR, imo

Possibly from BAMF. I think that was the person I asked about it when I first saw the setup a couple of weeks ago.

Wow. That’s a little harsh. I assume you are referring to small parts of SF and LA. I don’t think people from Michigan would appreciate it if I assumed all of that state was like Detroit, or Texans if I thought all was like Dallas or that all of Montana was like Poison, Montana. California is a big state

Hold on there Sparky. California is the largest contributor to the nation’s GDP at almost 3 Trillion a year. Standing alone, California would be the 5th largest economy in the world. Texas is next at 1.7 Trillion. By contrast, Montana is at 37 Billion. You may wish for California to secede, but I don’t think that would benefit the rest of the states. Let’s stop the State Bashing. There are good and bad parts of every state.
