Ordering the 100% LED headlights is a no brainer decision on a 2020. They are worth every penny in my opinion. The stock halogen headlights are just average at night and leave a lot to be desired from an illumination standpoint.

Yeah, but they look pretty goofy with the DRLs. Like someone said earlier in this thread, "like something you'd find on eBay"

Think I'm gonna go with the OEM halogens. Later on I can swap out to something else if I need to, but the OEM LEDs just aren't appealing.

And of course now that I'm looking at the pics, I'm thinking maybe I should have gone with Cement instead of DMG. :annoyed:

Then we should talk about the goofy-ass taillights. :der:

Cement looks so nice. If I cant get a good price for my trade in towards a pro, Im going Cement OR all day. Just trying to figure out if the LED package gives the black headlights and smoked tail lights.

It’s ultimately your decision. I am going to warn you that you will disappointed with the illumination from the old school halogen lamps. Upgrading later is going to cost you $1250-$1400. I highly recommend going to a dealer at night to see the difference between the 100% LED headlights and the stock halogen headlights before making a decision.

x2. Another member private messaged me about building a conversion harness as he builds them for the Tundra halogen to LED conversion. He heard a rumor that the Tacoma community is looking for one as well. Build it they will come...

Could not disagree more. The wrap around LED DRL looks much better IMO. The little L shaped DRL ones look kind of tacked on by comparison, although the projector beam does still look cool. I like the new one way better than what I had on my 2016 and will add the full LEDs to my 2020 sport fairly soon. It’s the only option I didn’t get when I bought it.

I feel the exact same way. The “L” shaped LED DRL’s on my Pro look aftermarket and tacky to my eyes. The 2020 headlights look WAY better IMHO.

Hit an elk last week and insurance will be replacing both headlamps ($14k in damages). Sure wish that adapter harness is available soon if they are to order the 2020 headlamps.

If you have LED DRL’s on your ‘16 through ‘19 Tacoma you have five connections on the rear of your headlight assembly. It’s simply a matter of going from the five connectors on one end and merging them into one 6-pin electrical connector on the headlight end.

Demand appears to there, we just need a supplier that can produce an OEM quality conversion harness.

Excuse my ignorance. So the low/high beam connectors are the same? Just DRL connectors are updated from 5 to 6-pin?

EDIT: Oops, I misunderstood the question initially. By full I mean the headlights themselves are LEDs, not just the DRL. The 2020 models I looked at had both options available. You can get the LED Headlight upgrade option ($485) that includes the newer LED DRL and full LED headlights. Or, the option of Projector Beam headlights including the "L" style DRL remains standard on many packages. But they aren't LED headlights.
