Our web site's intrepid leader, the Great and Powerful @tcBob, lives in the state of California. Happily.

TW membership is a privilege and not a right. Abide by the CoC or seek life elsewhere.

that’s good for him. I’m glad he enjoys California. I don’t and that’s okay.

what rule am I breaking by expressing an opinion?

California holds the honor of some of the highest income taxes in America. Its top state income tax bracket comes with a 12.3% rate. It’s a progressive tax system, though. Residents in the bottom bracket pay just 1% in state income taxes. If your taxable income is over $1 million, you’ll pay a 1% surtax on top of the 12.3% rate, bringing the total to 13.3%.

California also has the highest base rate for state sales tax, at 7.25%. Counties and cities can add sales taxes of their own, which is why some cities in Los Angeles have sales tax rates of 9.5%....really depends on how much you make but still high taxes

I wanted a back-up key/fob stored on my truck. In the past I have just zip-tied keys to open the door to the frame and had an extra fob stored in my handgun safe inside my old Xterra. I saw these hitchsafes mentioned on these forums and stuck one on today - pretty slick. If you are looking at getting one, you need the extra long Tacoma/Tundra pins.

    Safe: https://www.amazon.com/HitchSafe-HS...afe+tacoma&qid=1571422935&s=automotive&sr=1-4
    Pins: https://www.amazon.com/s?k=hitch+safe+tacoma&i=automotive&ref=nb_sb_noss

There is also a Tacoma/Tundra-specific safe (item HS7000TT) you can get that has the included pins, but when I was searching, it was slightly cheaper to buy separately. https://www.amazon.com/HitchSafe-Re...afe+tacoma&qid=1571423081&s=automotive&sr=1-6

I put my fob "to sleep" to save the battery (hold lock button and push unlock button twice while holding lock button). It will flash red a few times. I confirmed the truck did not recognize an active key. (to turn back on just push lock or unlock button once and it wakes up). The hitchsafe has gaskets and o-rings so it seems waterproof, but still, I sealed my fob in a food saver bag - just because. The safe has a "discrete" cover. Not a lot of extra room...

It was heading in both directions. There have been a lot of bans over conversations like this that took a wrong turn.

when you remove the grille, there is a bar that runs across that i used as a mounting point. first i stabilized the bar with some aluminum angle stock. then i mounted the lights to 2 pieces of 1" square aluminum tube, which i attached to the angle stock.
I had to cut a recess in the bottom of the grill shroud for the light mounts.

I didnt take any pics, sorry. id have to remove the grille to get them
