I was dragging my feet on buying the Pop & Lock brand power tailgate lock on Amazon. I decided to search TW to see what others were saying about it and I stumbled across this thread, thankfully! I spent most of the afternoon yesterday and this morning, while "working", reading all 107 pages (yes, all 2100+ posts), not sure why, just couldn't stop, was pretty entertaining.

When I first read post #1, I was confused about all the different options and add-ons (Complete Full Package for $95 vs. Complete Full Package for $150, etc.) but after reading 107 pages it became clear what was what.

I'm glad I didn't see this thread back in February when it first started, I would have most likely bought the original product. It's gone through several updates and improvements since then so now I have the fortune of buying the best - that's assuming you guys aren't planning on any more revisions? LOL

Any word on the Tundra tailgate and bed wire loom protectors? Paid the bills this payday and will being ordering Katie's kit when the funds free up in a couple of weeks.

The TRD Button is OEM. It is literally off of a Toyota Hilux, which is a Toyota Tacoma just in other countries. I’m telling you. They have so many of the same parts it’s not even funny. Same parts, same accessories, same connectors, same wiring, etc. There are some subtle differences, but they have a lot that is similar. However, these Buttons are OEM and are not Aftermarket.

As for your question on starting your truck with the Key Fob out of battery, I have no idea because I have no idea about the other one being able to do that. I hope that never happens to me to have to test that to be honest.

If you are speaking of that double wire harness protector, I am still trying to locate it. I have had no luck tho. I have no idea where that guy got it. Supposedly it was part of a kit. However, it’s not offered just to purchase. Ugh. I’m still trying tho.

If you are speaking about the Tundra Tailgate Lock Kit, the Harness arrives on Tuesday and I will be shipping out 70 Kits that have been purchased.

 

Katie are you waiting on any components for the Tacoma kits?

 

Hi Katie, I was just wondering about the Tundra part since it has the cutouts for the extra wiring and I heard it fits the Tacoma, I am looking at a full kit for a DCLB. eBay had yours up for sale, but it says calculate for the shipping. The prior listing showed $5 for shipping before the current listing. I will PM you when I get the funds for a full PNP kit, along with an extra actuator as a spare.

 

Yeah I changed it to calculate for shipping because some it may only be $3 and instead of having them pay $5, I thought it would be nice to only make them pay the $3. Therefore, I believe when you checkout on eBay you punch in your zip code now and it calculates your shipping cost right then and there and does the cost and charges you for your specific destination. I don’t know. I personally think that’s how it should be.

I wish I could locate that part because I’d like to just include it in my kit for everyone or depending on how much it cost at least make it available

 

No. I am just getting out 70 Kits for the IN-CAB AC POWER OUTLETS, just got the 70 Kits for the 3rd Gen Tundras completely ready for their Release when the PNP Harnesses come in, now I’m working on the Release of the Power Folding Mirror Kits, and then I will get back to the Tailgate Lock and Opener orders. Just have a lot on my plate right now after being gone two weeks. Will be trying to get to my PMs tomorrow too. I believe I have 30 of them.

Why? Is there something specific you need for the Tacoma Kit?
