I don’t think they would want to touch my truck with all the suspension mods and the tent mounted on the back.

Off to pickup my egregiously overpriced boot kits, wish me luck.

Toyota Pasadena told me to pound sand when I brought mine in for them to align. They had it for an hour and came back to tell me they couldn't do it with the suspension mods.

Thats just cause a dumb tech thats used to doing toe-and-goes probably pulled the ticket. Its all the same science/adjustments. Only with aftermarket UCA's you have some adjustments up there too.

Yeah I agree, just seems to be the way most shops are out here unless you go to a specialty one

I dont have aftermarket UCA's but Toyota spent like an hour and a half to get my alignment perfect after the lift went on. No complaints. And they did my dads a few weeks back, no complaints there either. His steering wheel had to be held at like a 45 degree angle to go straight before the alignment lol. I loosened the cams without marking them or even trying to get them back the way they were haha. The 2nd gen front suspension was pissing me off that day, having to undo the ubj to get the shock out made me mad, and I messed up the passenger otre before I realized it was the ubj that had to be undone.

Exact same experience with one of the larger Toyota Svc Dept in the area. Took it in after I installed the OME kit - told me they couldn't do any better because I needed aftermarket UCAs. They had me in negative caster instead of negative camber. Lazy bastards.

After taking it to Custom Alignment I was looking at 1.3 and 1.7 vs that negative BS. Alignment guru at Custom said the toyota tech just wanted to log a job and there was NO reason he couldn't have put me back in positive values.

    :brianr: Piercey Toyota... never again.

Keep us posted on the rebuild.

I'm sure it'll just be messy; been putting mine off for awhile too.

Parts in a pinch, OK. Service, NEVER. Best thing to do when using them for parts, order ONLINE and choose WILLCALL for your ship method. Their pricing always is cheaper on their site. Bastards. When I had them do the rear axle seals, I went through the invoice and the part costs were not matching their site. When I called them on it, he said those were 'internet only prices'. o_O

Stevens Creek and Piercey are the only ones open on weekends so I always end up at Piercey when it’s emergency. Didn’t know that about pricing. That’s sneaky.

My boots didn’t actually have physical damage, the clamps failed.
