Hrmm, weird. They did my 60k warranty last month - It was originally like $1,200 (Crankcase, Front Diff, and Rear Diff included). When they called back, my advisor applied some discount, and the total dropped down to like $900 after taxes

It's a work in progress. See my build thread.
60K includes spark plugs. Which are expensive.

true true - for a service like that, could always do JibbyLube. They can inspect and do your oil.

    Autonation Leesburg...

More info... They bait and switched her. I went online and set up the appointment for factory required. They (the advisor) decided it should be "Autonation Choice" which includes the tranny and differential services. Then they came back and said... Oh we'd have to pull the skid plates, and we can't do that. So they did the rear diff only.

So... I won't (ever) be going back there.

Soo...if you were an impulse buyer would you go window shopping for, say, a skat pack charger?

Apparently my go-to for an impulse vehicle purchase is a 2019 kia sorento that seats 7 and has a ridiculous amount of safety features. I can't even upgrade the headlights without it yelling at me.

Yep, I'm going to keep it simple I guess. Tint, weathertech mats, roof rack cross bars, remote start, and some upgraded halogen bulbs. The stock ones kinda blow.

There's ways around it from what I've read with little capacitors and stuff, but I really don't want to go hackjob on this thing. Hindsight wish I would've gotten a trim level up to get LED lights, but I'll survive.

So... Just in case anyone remembers my earlier rant(s) about my 90K service... I decided to write AutoNation and Toyota...

Following is an excerpt (And comes after an introductory section about setting up the appointment, and with a list from their website of what was included in what I asked for, AND a screenshot of my confirmation email , which agreed):

My wife brought my truck in, and the service advisor (removing all names to avoid any potential legal issues) provided her with an estimate of $1079.75.

Needless to say, neither she nor I was expecting anywhere near that much for a service that amounts to several inspections, an oil change and a tire rotation. So, she had the service advisor call me to explain. He explained that it also needed Front and Rear differential service, Transfer Case service, Transmission Fluid exchange, and there may have been a few more things. NONE of which are in the “Factory Recommended” service – but ARE included with the “Autonation Your Choice” service.

Being busy at work, and not really having time to sort this out, I told him to not do any service.

My wife decided to get the service done anyway (she had no clue what was really needed) and authorized the work. He said that he could remove the Clorox 360 Service and that would save some money. I never asked for that either so it should NOT have been on the estimate in the first place.

So, it APPEARS that he completely ignored what I had scheduled for online. Furthermore, it APPEARS that this is something akin to a bait and switch.

I don’t know if this is how your company routinely treats female customers, or if it is just this service advisor, but it is a completely unsatisfactory business practice, no service advisor should be adding services to a scheduled service appointment – at least not until one of these inspections finds something that needs attention.

I can only assume that he did this because he thought he could take advantage of a mechanically clueless woman.

Fortunately, when the technician informed the service advisor that they would have to remove my after-market skid plates, which would add hours to the job, my wife didn’t have the time and declined any further service, so I only ended up with a rear differential oil change (which I knew was needed, and had planned to do myself) among these un-requested (but authorized by my wife) services.

Previously, I’ve always worked with name removed, and never had any issues or complaints of any kind, even when my wife was in without me.

In any event, Autonation has lost a customer over this.

    sincerely... yada yada yada.
