    i don’t know of anyone with a bed rack and gap issues. I had a reinforced ARE shell and had gap issues. The steel used on my bed rack is not going to flex under any sort of weight I would ever put on it. If you’d like to do a test, I’d offer my bed rack vs your shell. Grab each from the areas they mount to the bedsides and pull horizontally with force. See which flexes or fails first. Guarantee it’s your fiberglass shell.

    That's the plan. The most expensive parts are out of the way, clutch and rotors/pads. Once suspension is upgraded, tires and windshield purchased, I'll be happy with taking it back out on the trails! I have close to 200K on these 5100s and tires are bald, cupped and wobbly.

    Nah, because my bed rack is positioned with a straight section right above the rails.

    I would like to hear @SOS CONCEPTS chime in on someone saying his bed rack would flex before a fiberglass shell hahaha

    Maybe. But that would cause the cracking at the bottom like the photo you shared earlier, not spreading at the top of the tailgate.
