    How'd the UCA fail?

The long bolt broke that you need to fish out from in front/behind the spindle, or the ball joint?

Do you think I would be shooting myself in the foot by choosing to replace filters/clean units myself in lieu of $374.90 annual service contract plus filters times 2 units. Annual maintenance would be a minimum $869.80 to maintain warranty.I currently have 2 incurable terminal illnesses, full and permenantly disabled. Just dont want to freeze to death if unable to keep woodstove going long enough for nature to prevail. Sorry if this sounds morbid or offends.I have accepted my fate and am planning for worst case scenarios.

On the Bosch dishwashers. The 'common' original traditional Bosch d/w are like their washers and dryers and ovens, etc and way overbuilt. Like most things German. Now the newer simpler style Bosch dishwashers that don't sit in a leak proof floor pan, like the 400 or 500 dollar units at big box store are much easier to work on. They have more components accessible with lesser disassembly required. This newer style Bosch d/ws I've only had to replace drian pumps on. And many times with the drain error the sump just needs to be cleaned out.
Long term reviews like from Reddit or another source that isn't censored or whatever is also a good source of info

Real First world problem IMHO. Cuba is a good example of human resourcefulness.50s model US imports as daily drivers for 60+years. Pedal powered everything and going back to red hot steel and hammer to create "new parts"

Tough type of life style for someone dealing with those types of challenges. Sorry to hear about that, but I can tell you're not looking for sympathy, just looking for legit advice. I don't have any experience with those but I'd imagine, just guessing, that part of that 12 year warranty on their end is being able to service and see the components twice a year to nip something in the bud before it affected more costly stuff. Know what I mean?

You'd prolly be able to find on a forum what the common things are that goes wrong or affects those. Maybe a mitsu tech or prev mitsu tech has shared that stuff or something. If I had that info I'd have no problem at all on skipping the warrant, well I never do warranty anyways but we're in different spots. That is a bit of dinero though

I memba when I was back east a couple years ago, the folks had a mini split thing and they called me freaking out that water was dripping out from the unit and they had no idea what was going on.
Looks just like what you were saying. The filters hadn't ever been cleaned and the condensate line was backed up. We got that taken care of and I made a little pvc attachment for his shop vac to suck out the line from outside wall where drain line ends. And that's kept that line from backing up again.

How about these LG vs. Bosch models?

If only I could gen another "new" one of these KDC models that were made by actually Hobart. It was the Sherman Tank of dishwashers.
