It's not too bad on dark colors, but light colored paint (wht being the worst) really shows the ugly pinch weld that runs below the cab. Once I noticed it, it was all that I saw when looking at the truck from the side. I made mine disappear by painting the weld black. It is basically invisible now. Taped it off, roughed up the paint, and applied two coats of blk paint. It's gone. Looks much better!

IMG_20190630_185444.jpg derpd mine about 2 years ago and it's still perfect. i used the paint-on pdip, not the spray-on. it's thicker and less volatile fumes.

I bought the brush on bed liner paint at my local Auto Zone store. It seemed to be thicker and I thought it might last longer. Used two coats.

Has anyone come up with a way to cover up the ugly pinch welds other than paint in lieu of trim/covers?

Thanks, I may try that I was thinking bed liner but the plastidip might be the best.

I agree with you and was thinking about masking it off and painting it flat white under there. Now that I see your example in black, I changed my mind. It looks way better and I can always change it back, but can't think of any reason why. The white paint under there is always dirty looking and collects everything, especially oil, tar and grease in the summer

It wouldn’t be so bad if they would have tried to keep the spot welds in a perfect line and not just all over the place. I forget how many spot welds I counted on one side I think it was like 36 and looks like who ever did them was drunk.

Must have been the same person who fabricated mine.
