Hi everyone. I've had my 3rd Gen for a while have experienced driving issues that concern me.

The transmission just always seems to be in the right gear for the right speed always. No matter the incline, decline, load or situation. The revs are always where they need to be. It never hunts or searches for gears by it self. Very frustrating. What could be causing this? Do I need a TSB, ABC or QRF from the dealer? I was going to get a automated trans but my Wife can't drive auto plus we are not lazy and like to be in control and connected to the truck. Any help would be much appreciated?

Same issues here, can't figure out why shifting feels so much like butter? Or maybe margarine?

I just towed a 55' lift that was 4500 lbs. Shifted down once on a hill and back up on the decline. It stayed in gear on flat ground. Scared the shit outta me. I was waiting for all the gear hunting. Now I'm off to the dealer to see what's wrong.

You know what? I have the same problem but mine is an automatic transmission. It does exactly what it’s supposed to. WTF!?

If I were you, I would immediately contact Corporate and open a case. Don't wait until things go south. Do it today!

Is there a TSB to be make the Transmission act up? I feel left out and want to fit in at TW.

My transmission shifts like it has a mind of its own.

It should be reading my mind, not make decisions for me automatically.

I think there are 3 or 4 TSB's for this.

(stop dreaming, you'll never fit in...)

Put it in reverse and you'll find the problem

Pull the rear wheels and you'll find the problem

Look at the frame and you'll find the problem

Open the hood and you'll find the problem

The new Tacoma is a love child of Camry roots and a manual doesn't make it any better

This truck is inferior to the Ridgeline
