Led bulb or full replacement

I’m looking to put led bulbs in my headlights and fog lights. Wondering if I should go with just led bulbs or replace the entire headlight and fog lights. If I just do bulbs for headlights will I have to do high beams and regular?

Not sure how it all works, help a brother out.

Note that most drop in LED headlights will not project correctly, and you will lose your projection distance. Most will show you lots of cleaver marketing to overlook the fact. The only one I have tested that has done better than stock at distance is Hikari ultra which is covered in post #1608. A basic Philips H9 halogen bulb swap will be higher performing, and the Morimoto XB LED headlight assemblies will do even better, and are the best method to run LEDs.

The headlights run projectors, so glare isn't an issue. In the fogs, they are reflectors, which if using LEDs is going to cause significant glare and scatter. For the fogs you should replace the entire housing. Nearly all the LED fogs for a Tacoma are covered here:

Best in class are Rigid selective yellow and KC G4 in white.

I was thinking you are 3rd Gen, but realized you don't actually list your year. What year is your truck?
