I take the long range approach anyways. Im comfortable with that M1 out to 600 yards.

Hell of a lot farther than most people at my local gun club would stretch their iron sight guns out to. I get the o_O look when Im setting up on the 200 yard line. When I tell them thats what my gun is zeroed for, I get the . Then when they see me shooting off the elbow on the ground all slung up I get some really out there looks haha. Wouldve tried it out to 1000 yesterday, my dad took his AR to a 1k yard shoot, I was stuck at work.

    No that's true.

I always enjoy taking someone to stretch their rifle's legs; I haven't been shooting in almost +1 year (almost 2?), and last time I did I was just shooting off reloads I had made some time back in different calibers. Needless to say, everything was on point.

Farthest I've shot was just over 3,000 yards, as measured out by topo map and vector bino's.

Even 1,500 is fun to shoot, and you get a sense of accomplishment when lead meets the gong/steel.

Had to look that up; badass.

Don't have a reason to own it though; I bought one for backpacking and it kept me dry on several occasions backpacking through Oregon last December.

I think all the ranges near me are only 100 yards. Well one has a 200 yards but is only open on occasion.

Metcalf in SJ is 200 yards on certain Sundays.

Laguna I think has 200 or 300 yards.

Sac Valley has 800 yards to the public, and 1,000 if you're in the club.

    BLM is limitless.

He said Nosler 70gr RDF's were holding the 9/10 rings on a 1k yard F Class target. His spotter was a bit shocked at first haha.

Ever since I was 11, NRA Highpower/ CMP vintage military matches were my sport. Then I aged out of the junior class and it got super expensive so I lost interest. Maybe Ill get back into it someday.

I have a lot of scopes...between Nightforce to S&B and Leupold to everything in between.

2 mins of elevation up on most any centerfire rifle and youre there. Or just use a 25yard zero and youll be close enough depending on how fast your ammo is.

We didn’t get to talk guns a whole bunch, but I’ve shot out to 600 yards here with the AR10. Now that I have a bolt action that’s properly set up for those distances I can really get after it.

I think my leupold is only recommended out to 100 though im sure my .308 can go way father even with its shorter barrel.

and my ar can probably go that far but i think after i messed with the scope last time it lost its zero and i havmet bothered shooting it sense
