This thread troubles me. I feel the good people at RCI, who make awesome, high quality products, are being constantly bitch-slapped by this thread for making the same slider dimension (within reason) that everyone else makes, likely based on solid engineering, and field testing of their product.

Leave it to TW to beat down everyone. No one is safe. Not Toyota, not the US government, not newbs, not BF Goodwrench, not even RCI.

The only one who manages to float above it all is @stun gun . I can’t figure it out. The fella came here from the darkwebz, if rumour is truth.

You need a combo of length and girth. Plus the average slider length in the US is 79.5”

77” if true will have to do. I’ve pulled that trigger.

Cost me 280 shipped. It is weld on though. I believe they are releasing a bolt-on soon for 500ish.

They're great. Saved me from some trees a few times and all I ever did was touch it up with some rattle can. Hard to justify spending 700 on some heavy bolt-ons that flex and can cause rusting.

I have been eye-balling them for a couple weeks now, all the while trying to persuade myself to weld them to the frame. I almost have myself convinced...

If you welded to the frame, that can cause rusting. Especially the front support leg where your welding at the boxed section of the frame since you can’t get to the back side of the weld to fix the frame paint that burned off. At least the rust that bolt on sliders might cause of external and easy to touch up.

That helps limit rusting under the mating faces. But I was more referencing the backside of the frame particularly inside the box section.
