Full Length Step bars

Looking for recommendations on a set of black, full length step bars for a 2019 Access Cab. My 5’ wife is having a hard time getting in and out of the new Taco.

I like my N-fab full length ones I bought for my 17 AC. The set I have even have a third step for reaching into the bed. I don't use that 3rd step much anymore since I have been keeping my topper on continuously. I think they still sell this model. They are the individual step style, which I actually like way better than the long single step style.
Seems to me when you only have ONE place to foot one is more cautious where you place that foot!
BTW my wife is 5ft as well- but then we are both old (but very wise) farts.

Those will probably not bolt up to an Access cab. I may be wrong but I think the bolt/hole pattern is different for the AC, even though the two trucks are the same exact length-this surprised me when shopping for the step bars
(AC and DCSB)
This was the case back in 17 --maybe by now the manufacturers have wised up to this situation

They are called APS iboards and are available in different lengths and widths. You just chose your mounting hardware. I believe the access cab only uses one less mount on each side. The front mount is the same on both trucks.

 

I'm guessing that the 18 and 20 access cab frame is tbe same. I bought iboards on eBay and it goes pretty much all the way but 1 foot from the rear wheels. It's simple bolt on and adjustable in/out and forward backwards. It has a max cap of 300 lbs.

 

Howdy Mark, I’ll have to take a look at those, are they bolt on weld on? I really like the idea of a step back at the front of the bed.

Good to see another Air Force vet. My wife and I are no spring chickens either, in fact she’s already retired.

 

apparently the bolt pattern is different for the access cab, I’m running into a lot of step rails not being made for the AC.

 

this truck is a 19. And in one way I’m glad I didn’t get a 2020. My wife’s RAV4 has the Apple Car Play (like the 2020 Taco). To get the mapping function, it uses phone data, and lots of it. The first month she had the RAV4 she hit her data limit because of it. My phone actually belongs to my employer and we have some strict rules about streaming, personal use, etc. This 2019 Taco has mapping that uses a map card and no phone connection is required.

Back to step boards, I’ve googled the heck out of them and haven’t found any that fit both the double cab and the access cab.

 

That's exactly what I ran into when looking for mine. The ones I have are bolt on to the body under the side of the truck. My Son who is waaay more "limber" than I volunteered to put mine on for me --I readily agreed. Took probably less than 30 minutes to bolt-em on, and we were in no rush

yesterday 10/19/2019 I put a set of Max-Rocket Heavy duty Running boards on my 2019 Access cab TRD sport 4x4, perfect fit and finish. Mfg. claims 500 lb. capacity per side. with hand tools under one Hr. install time.
Found these on E-Bay $130.00

really thinking about these for my 2020 pro. Did you do the “bed liner” finish? I was thinking of just the regular black steel coating but read some places that the paint comes off? Just wondering how you like them and where you picked them up from.

 

Those are the plastic covered ones that the dealer sells. One issue with them is that they fit right up against the body and it's hard to put your foot on.

 

oh so you’re saying something lower would be better? I know they have the optional steps you can add. You regret them? What else were you looking at?

 

I'm not the guy that posted the steps. I've put these step on many Tacomas and had a set on my 2012. The problem is that the step sits right up against the truck so they're awkward to use. You end up not using them and just step over them but your trailing leg ends up brushing the step and dirties your pant leg. Go try some at the dealer, they probably have some installed on a truck.

 

The full length N-fabs can give you a third step which is really convenient for getting in the bed from the side -- I like mine.
