So in 4wd do you apply chains to the front or rear?

 

Usually all 4. If I only have a pair though I go for the front with an empty truck because the front tends to be heavier. Add a load in the bed or a trailer and they go on the rear.

 

Yeah it doesn't really matter. It's more of a joke since I don't drink actual beer anymore lol

 

Be careful going just the front. Clearance issues aside, you don’t want your front end to be able to stop faster than your rear. Straight line it shouldn’t be a big issue but stopping hard in a curve that back end will do it’s best to pass you up.

edit: That’s why tire shops won’t install snow tires on just the front of a front wheel drive car.
