I don’t know if this is a thing with your engine, but as part of a scheduled service my dealer cleaned my MAF sensor. I felt (could be placebo) that the engine ran much smoother after they cleaned the MAF.

Definitely a possibility. But with only 1000 miles I feel that shouldn’t be an issue for me. Only have had truck for 2-3 weeks now

Yeah for sure. I forgot it was such low miles. Do you always fuel at the same station?

If the dealer isn't to far away stop by one morning when your off work and ask them to test drive another 4-cyl truck when cold, See what it does...

That's what the shop tech is more than likely going to do whilst also checking Tech-Line for info regarding the symptoms. You may get a great technician that goes the full extent and starts the vehicle and looks at the parameters while plugged in to see if anything looks out of the normal but isn't bad enough to throw the CEL.

Yes. I did two tanks of mid grade just for the hell of it , didn’t notice a difference , last two tanks were regular. Fueling up at BP. I’ll try shell next time.

Yeah I was just thinking you might be getting fuel with water in it if you are always filling at the same station. It sometimes takes a while for them to figure out they have a leak letting the rain in.

Good idea. I’ll probably do that here soon. Just don’t want some idiot doing a bunch of nonsense on my new truck. I’ve experienced first hand major problems with taking stuff back to dealer with my dad. I’m trying to avoid it at all cost.

See, that’s the thing. It runs like a vehicle would if it had some water in the tank. But if it did have water in the tank I strongly feel like it would be doing this more frequently, and it doesn’t. It runs perfectly fine for the rest of the day.

Had it been raining where you live? Could it be your own tank taking on a bit of water?

Yes , it has rained here and there , nothing out of the ordinary. It’s acted like this every single day no matter the weather .

I have not experienced this, but take it in. They are going to inform you if it’s going to be a massive undertaking, and you can decline if you like. Chances are it’s something simple like an interference with the A/F sensing circuit.

2019 4 cylinder. It cranks instantly and runs great. It gets to warm up 30 to 40 seconds until I hear a achoo sounds ( sounds like an infant baby sneezing in the next room.) Don't have a clue what it is but the engine and trans have warmed up 20 to 30 degrees by then.

Never had an issue with sputtering etc when cold, sometimes the clutch is stiff when it's frigid.

That noise is the secondary air pump shutting off and closing. It's directs more engine heat right in front of the catalytic converter to warm it up faster to meet EPA standards. Totally normal. I also use that as my clue that the engine is ready to rock and roll. Usually even on the coldest days below 20* it kicks off after about 45 seconds.
