How is that immature? You have three options. One, keep bitching and whining. Two, sell them. Three modify them. I guess you’re going with option one. Good on you.

The problem is all the available options are about the same length, give or take an inch. He can’t sell his sliders for something better, because there isn’t that option out there. That’s why this whole thread is bunk.

He could, but buyer beware, one wrong step and you'll be deciving him. Somehow.

OP can you please state in one post exactly what the outcome you are looking for here is. I really think your message has gotten quite murky. After 27 pages the only thing I really remember is the pencil skirts.

So has anybody here actually given any thought to the shape a rock would have to be for this "1 inch too short" slider to actually fail to protect?

Ya that’s probably where I will end up. Might just chop off the slider and use the frame mount to build a full length slider.

Been talking with the welding shop that did my CMC.

Coming from someone who has actually rock dropped on RCI rock sliders I can tell you from personal experience that THEY DO PROTECT FROM ROCK DROPS. Length is good. Rock would have to be pretty steep and skinny to fit in and damage the cab/fender and that would be an obvious rock you wouldn't crawl onto and drop in the first place.

Exactly. You'd have to be driving over a spike. Which if you do, the damage is your fault not the slider's. It's fine.

Also if it were 1” short I could live with that.

The distance between wheel wells is 90”, not the distance between front and back tires.

RCI is 77”, adequate sliders are 86” and up.
