Too bad my son is working today or he would make that run. He did it in my Excursion to pick up an air compressor for a friend years ago.

I can appreciate your drive to experiment with your Taco to see the result of a modification. The result unfortunately is sometimes an unintentional consequence. However progress is made thru this experimentation. The mechanic I used put it this way...”The engineering that went into the vehicles design and build was based on their best knowledge at the time with as few compromises as they agreed to accept.” So every time you change something be prepared for the law of unintended consequences! A lot of research before making changes generally pays off. I like to use the cost vs benefit logic, but sometimes just the fun of doing it, even if it does not work is its own reward. So I congratulate you even in your disappointments.

he needs a strength of materials lab. The guy that does my welding is a rock crawler. He is constantly breaking stuff. Last time it was the gears in the front dif and the sidewalls of two tires. He has a Jeep and says it is the price of doing what he enjoys.

I agree with this. I buy good components but between my shit luck and the hoonin shit just doesnt last. One of my more recent experiences was the brakes - was fucking around and realized gx 460 brakes with ebc rotors and pads even have their limitations. Btw brake fade is real. Truck would not stop to save its life.

    Example of my shit luck:
    20191020_135715.jpg

Also, damn the truck looks good. Kinda makes me want to clean it more
