It's my OCD working here, but I can't help wondering if the hood graphic around the scoop on my TRD Sport isn't going to crap out prematurely. It's a vinyl type material unlike the TRD quarter panel badging, which seems to hold up for years (did on my last Tundra).

I already see a nit or bump on the surface after 8 weeks, and I can imagine the edges peeling up sooner than later. It shows rain spots like crazy, though I did just apply some 303 Protectant and that helped.

Anyone have issues, and did you peel off or remove the hood graphic? --Thanks, Bill

You have hood graphics? Cool. Pics? Then we can help you better.

I only got the bedside decals.

A picture wouldn't show anything yet-- no obvious issue, just a tiny nit or two where the vinyl has bubbled up. (I assume it's vinyl). I'm interested to know if anyone else has had more obvious issues--bubbling, peeling, fading etc. Thanks! Bill

Just a comparison - I had a 77 Trans Am with the full vinyl decal on the hood. Considering the technology of the time, those decals lasted a very long time even in bad conditions. And, for the most part, decals protect the paint underneath instead of causing issues with the paint. People complain about shadowing of the paint after removing decals that have been on a vehicle for many years because the paint underneath still looks new. I think present technology has only improved the durability of decals. Just my $0.02

I didn’t know the sport came with factory graphics. The stuff that came on mine is great quality, been outside in Texas it’s whole life and it’s perfect. If it’s some dealer (or port) add-on shit, then yes I’d be concerned, they are notorious for crap quality.

I want your OCD. With my OCD, I spend all day alternating between checking the doors to make sure they’re locked and washing my hands. I have no time to install my graphics.

Thanks ICU1... this is the type of response I was looking for- to see how other's OEM hood graphic had stood up. Appreciate the response-- I am using 303 Protectant as well.

Yep, mine is the Toyota OEM Hood Graphic as listed in the accessories pages at the Toyota web site. It's a TRD Sport option piece. It happened to be installed on the unit I bought. I do think it looks nice and finishes off the scoop appearance well.

Me too. I apply it every few months. I also used high temp black satin paint on hood scoop

Apologize for the shadows, but I have had mine since January, and believe its durability is pretty solid. This is OEM from Toyota, the matte finish is nice.

I scuffed the decal though when cleaning some bird marks and a drying towel that had a sticker stuck in it from the brush I must have collected out in the fields. You can see light horizontal scuff marks right above the hoop scoop :-/

Don't think I can fix that haha, not ruined though.

It 100% depends on who installed it, its dealer installed on 90% of them, so it varies with installer, and the products they use.
