Haha, this is not as sketchy as it looks. I have heavy duty jack stands on the frame rails the Jack's and tree rounds were just a redundancy. You know to make it extra safe.

What a beautiful night to drive 255mi. Stars are out and bright as hell with a partially shrouded moon. New truck is doing nicely on the gas mileage front so far which is pleasing, it's generally a sign of decent health

    Well since you asked...

She's a white 1996, V6, 4x4, manual trans, jshift, with 135k on the ol clock.

In what respect? The 4 banger even with me driving like an asshole and the supercharger screaming got 3.4mpg (huh, funny coincidence) better mileage (my average so far with the V6 is 18.5mpg) and while not faster off the line had superior top end.

You could push it further if you really wanted to with boost or cams with longer duration. But with the cams it has and the length of the intake runners it just runs out of poop kind of early. Which if we're being honest isn't a bad trait for a truck motor because it comes with all that torque down low

Used my horn painting rack to pull my RTT off for the season. Was too heavy to pull the rope with two people so I screwed an eyebolt into the wall and used a cable winch.

I can’t wait to fit in parking garages again.

That’s quite unique. Never seen anything like it. How do you plan on securing it?

I'll have to order some. There were a lot of spaces I couldn't get to on the frame, also the entire front half of the truck... It looked ok up front so I figured I could get by with a FF coating later.

Yup, there's plenty of places in CA with snow and salt. This truck was originally from NV, then I think it spent 13 years on someone's property up in the Tahoe area. Plenty of time to get rusted unfortunately.

It's gonna have a better life now though. :)

Finally got the final coat of POR15 on, also tested out my newly wired bed lights. KC makes some nice led lights.

    IMG_20191020_231125.jpg

I really like the coating so far. When I first started it seemed like it was going to be very thin. Then while checking the first layer right before I started the next one I was very impressed with the finish. It was more satin than I was expecting, and seemed very durable. I'm glad the frame won't be glossy black once it's dry.

    IMG_20191020_191937.jpg

Oh also added a crooked decal, luckily I can cut as many as I want. :playball:

Sure is. The 2nd gen backplate fits on the first gen body. Then I could use our KC4 brake housing on top of that. It looks pretty good and works very well. I might need to figure out a better gasket to seal to the truck though, I didn't have the right material on hand to get it how I want it.
