The drive to work confirmed that my newly installed clutch MC and slave were working as intended. I also installed new bushings for the clutch pedal. First I had to weld in some filler cause the SOB clutch spring wore into the metal. Also welded filler on the clutch spring as well.

ok got it!, mine is similar behind and spotty elsewhere, good in spots that are easy to hose down in winter, or so i thought until the rubber spray installed on new frame started peeling off this year!

I was about 17 when I used a gravity feed sandblaster. I should have listened to my dad, and covered up / taped my sleeves, etc. I felt like a three legged cat in a sand box.

this piece of rubber spray coating was on there real good, it took quite awhile to blast it off to naked steel
i don't think the fuel tank should be difficult to remove, its just the putting it back in properly that mesmerizes me currently
and what exactly i will find behind it
so far nobody has been able to post a good pic of what the inner rail should look like behind there and how thick it is

    long buttoned sleeves are good!

J A Y what size air compressor are you using? A larger / quieter one is on my wish list.

Fuel tank is easy BUT if those high pressure hose nuts are seized then you have a problem.

I COULD NOT for the life of me break the nut closest the the cab even with two large wrenches.

If I had continued I think the whole connection would have broken in two,
Luckily the tank side I was able to break loose and that was with the bed off being able to bear down on it. With the bed on, good luck

A needle gun will make short work of stripping frame coating on large areas. Save the blast media for small, tight, inaccessible areas.

this is the one i have been using, it had the highest SCFM i could find for less than $500
its probably not the best of the best, it sure puts out the hugest amount of water vapor, the pebbles in the separate dryer have already turned color and need replaced after just a couple weeks of use

Dang, that's nice! I know what you mean about the water vapor. My small Sears Craftsman (5 gallon) does the same. I put a inline filter in, but it doesn't catch all of it.
I would love to have the size you have to be able to use a spray gun. I imagine body shops invest lots of money in filters to catch all moisture.

I know you think your garage is bad but I'm envious of the order you have going on in yours..... Motivating me to go get mine back in order

there's not much rubber frame coating left to remove after decades of power wand washing regularly
these spots must've popped up this past year when i became 'lazy' and just ran it through the auto wash daily (instead of getting out and hosing it down myself) after they smothered the main streets with calcium chloride to destroy the inch of ice after the blizzard (pre flood)
you cannot even trust the machines any more!

one dealer service dept. told me they could re-spray rubber coating on it to take care of my problem and cover it up

Lol, that garage has no semblance of order. All my overflow junk that was in there is now in my trailer, which is now equally as worthless as a glorified shed on wheels.

Too soon, we were through these distracting, colorful, Alders. Luckily it wouldn't be our last encounter with these beautiful trees, and besides, we were making our way up and around what we hoped would be another cool peak to add to our list of places we'd driven to the top of: Hahn's Peak. Visible at the top, an old lookout - no longer staffed - called to us to visit, and we made our way around the base of the mountain as we looked for a way up.

Read all about it in Redhead Down #3: We Cross into Colorado
