Alabama thread!

Never been to a show for a band I liked... Apparently the bands I like aren't suitable for a respectable adult. Lol.

 

My playlist is 80% Hair Metal (Van Halen, Ratt, Dokken, Crue, Skid Row, etc.)

the remainder is split by heavy stuff (Pantera, bad wolves, 5 finger death punch, etc.) and Christian Metal (Demon Hunter, Theocracy, Skillet, etc.)

I blew the stock speakers in my truck, replaced them all with upper mid range kicker speakers and have already blown one of those. I listen to my music at full blast half the time.

 

Pink Floyd for the win! I saw their last tour in California in '99 with David Gilmour, excellent show with the lasers and shit. Never forget it, the same year we heard the Dalai Lama speak.

 

Sounds like you are right about music tastes aligning. Minus AC/DC, I could never get into them.

 

Do you have experience with this? Please continue. Sounds like a fun story.

 

Always thought I was the only person that still listens to Demon Hunter. Their music is still good even after graduating high school. That's one of my go to's in the gym. I'm a fan of Skillet as well.

 

there are actually several faith based Norwegian Death Metal Bands. They come to the states to play at the audiofeed festival every year.

I'm sure. I've heard stories (not sure if they're true) of people dying at shows and more or less being used as stage props on crosses and such. Real creepy, dark stuff. I think I'll stay away from the Black Metal just in case.

 

Maybe that's what I'm remembering. Gonna have to look in to it. Dark stuff like that intrigues me.

Idk man, pig squealing was the thing back in high school. Ever listen to Job for a Cowboy? That'll pig squeal your ears to death, but its a freakin art form. I don't listen to it much anymore... because I'm a grown up... I guess.

 

HAHAHA. Yeah, my wife would jump out my truck if I played that for her. She's aware I listen to some questionable things, she'd just rather not hear it. Lol.

My wife likes hair Metal, but I lose her past the 80s. She doesn’t like heavier stuff.

 

My wife listens to praise and worship music or country music. Both of which I have my limits. Nothing wrong with singing at church, but I can't listen to it all day everyday. Too repetitive. Give me that heathen rock n roll.

 

hm. Apparently your wife and my wife also have the same taste in music.

 

I typically leave mine on the local rock station so I get traffic reports and stuff. On road trips, I'll hook the phone up and listen to a few albums to wherever I'm going if I'm alone.

Sounds like they'd be best friends at this rate. They can hang out while we build stuff/ mountain bike/ go wheeling. Lol.

That too. I keep telling her that if she had expensive hobbies, we'd spend money on that too but she just won't pick up any hobbies that require more than hiking shoes. More money for my fun I guess. Lol
