tire 1.jpg tire 2.jpg I bought a set of 2018 wheels for my 2009, and according to Discount Tire, these are not compatible with my truck.

So they put the old ones on the new wheels. I was told those don't work cause they are for steel wheels.

    $125 shipped.

Paypal (F&F), personal check (held for 7 days) or credit card (+3%).
It's hunting season in Texas, so most weekends I will be out of town. I can not ship or respond to emails during that time.

My bad man, I didn’t read through the post earlier. I was going to grab them, but if they won’t work with the aluminum wheels, they won’t work for me either! Have a good week! Glws!

This is what I was told by Discount Tire. Dont know if it is true or not. I felt like they just wanted to sell me their set.

These are 2018 version for aluminum wheels. Since my truck was a 2009 with steel wheels, they couldn't be programmed. If you have 2018 (or compatible years) and aluminium wheels. They will work.

Once again... this is what I was told. If anyone can verify or debunk this, please speak up.

I thought I've seen some threads on the forum saying that tpms sensors are compatible between alloys and steels by rotating the sensor before installing (180deg if I remember?). I don't have links to specific threads or know if that was for 2nd gens only??

So just to clarify, these sensors are coming off of 2018 aluminum wheels, and would not work (according to discount tire) with your 2009 steel wheels?

I’m just asking because the information is somewhat conflicting. The first post makes it seem as though the tpms sensors you’re selling would not work for you because they were for steel wheels, but one of your responses says that these tpms sensors are for aluminum wheels and wouldn’t work for you because you have steel wheels. I’m just confused. I bought a set of trd beadlocks that I am about to install, so if these are for aluminum wheels, i can use them.

3 of those are for aluminum wheels and 1 of them is for a steel wheel. You can tell the 1 on the far right has more angle to it.

Also, it appears that the 1 on the far right is for a 2nd gen. Here is a pic from a 3rd gen sale post for TPMS sensors for steel wheels for a 3rd gen. I have 2nd gen sensors in front of me for aluminum wheels and they look identical to that one on the right in the OP except for the angle and the taller ribs. When I had my spare apart, I distinctly remember the taller ribs.

So do you think the reason they couldn't get them to work was the fact they had 3 of one and 1 of the other????

With this new info, I have contacted the person that bought them, and issue a paypal refund back him.

So these are back up for sale. If you can use the 4 sensors posted here.... let me hear from you. I dont want to misrepresent anything.

3rd gen sensors won't work on a 2nd gen because they operate on a different frequency.

So, it works like this. If you have a 2nd gen truck, you need 2nd gen sensors. If you have a 3rd gen truck, you need 3rd gen sensors.

Then from there, you need steel wheel sensors of steel wheels and aluminum wheel sensors for aluminum wheels, according to the wheels you have, for them to fit the wheel properly.

So for this truck nd these wheels, I will need 2nd gen sensors for Aluminum wheels?
Any suggestions where to get those? Discount tire wants $65 each for them.

Deleting ad for now till I can figure out if Discount Tire failed to pull all the matching sensors from these new wheels. (as soon as I can figure out how to delete it)

    Problem solved...…

Turns out Discount Tire didn't give me all the same sensors back. They left one of the new ones inside the wheels.
I went there today and we got it all straightened out.

i contacted the original buyer, and he once again agreed to buy the set.

Thank you @Muddinfun for all the help nd education you gave me.
