The City just picked up leaves & debris piles from last months hurricane. They were overwhelmed with the volume of stuff. A lot of people dragged out old junk to add to the piles. A church on the next street still has the plexiglass covers hanging off their stained glass.

Now that I have my 'brown' for the compost, I too will 'hoover' them up and throw them onto the edge of the property.
We have not even had the color change yet. Just a bit of, but not complete.

Used to just rake them up for the compost pile, this year, going to hoover them up and straight to the compost pile. Will be doing this from now until the new leaves come in, about March.

Hi all:wave:. Arrived in Iceland this morning to a balmy 43* and no rain. By the time we reached our first stop it started raining and felt like the temperature dropped 20 degrees. Our first stop was the viking long boat statue which is a nice piece of work. Had breakfast and off and running again. Saw the famous church and a tour of the geo-thermal plant(interesting but it was sooo long it got boring. A quick bus tour of Rejkavik and to the hotel. So far except for being tired, the rain and chill it looks like we should have a good trip. More pictures tomorrow.

I’ll be 60 in March, and bought a new Tacoma on Friday. I can promise one thing, there will never be a tent on top of my Tacoma. o_OB366D4BB-359A-4B8C-976A-FF4E82870D86.jpg

Welcome Warhawk...great group of people in here. A few fishermen hang out here as I can see you enjoy fishing. Pull up a spot on the porch and sit a spell.

Welcome, congrats on the new truck. I can't see having a tent on the bed either. Expensive.

    Welcome @Warhawk
I agree. I sleep in a cap. I would never put a tent on the truck. :)

Fishing was part of the reason I got the Tacoma. That and the fact that I've owned several Toyotas prior to this one, and all have been trouble free.

I live in the Ouachita mountains in Arkansas. There are some places I wasn't comfortable with getting to in my 2wd Titan pickup. This Taco will have no problem with any of it. We have kayaks that I fish out of, and also have a small Tracker aluminum boat. I guess I'll need to update the pics of that boat.

Welcome Warhawk. Nice looking Tacoma and the boat set up is right on point. Welcome to the over 60 thread.

    Ken:
The pictures look great, please keep them coming.

I purchased a new Samsung S10 Plus at the end of September and decided I wanted to get decent at shooting videos for personal use. However like most of us delving into a new hobby I need to see if I will really enjoy the work needed to have a high quality end product and do this initial assessment on a tight budget. The first thing I have learned is that there is very little content, hardware, and software for the android platform. There is an abundance of content on the IOS platform.

So I started to do my research and narrowed the field of gimbal for smartphone products down to 3. The cost I was looking at was from $100 to $150 depending on the product. As luck would have it on Friday one of the gimbals was the deal of the day on Amazon. The Zhiyun Smooth 4 regularly $119 was on sale for $82. The gimbal is about a year old at this point but is will work with the S10+ and the Filmic Pro app will control the gimbal and the phone. Filmic Pro is an interesting app that will allow some editing along with changing the phone settings and the Smooth 4 controls will work correctly. Sort of a win, win, win for me. If I begin to feel comfortable with this setup and enjoy the filming process I will probable spring for better editing software and a portable file storage device.

Dave: A gimbal allows you to shoot a steady scene without any jerking motions and also allows a steady pan of the camera back and forth as well as up and down. The Filmic software app, available on android and IOS platforms, allow you to manually control the settings of your phone camera. https://www.filmicpro.com/

So being the old fart that I am, I still use a camera to take pictures. At least I did until recently, I used my iPad to take the pics of the new Tacoma. Are the cameras in the new phones (and iPads) really that good?

Near as I can tell, yes. I recently traded up from an IPhone SE to an IPhone XR. I see a big difference, but I'm really not much of a photographer. :notsure:

IPhone? I have a Western Electric phone, looks like a sticker on the back says Quality check by F Flintstone or something like that.
