I am thinking about upgrading from OEM 4 leaf pack with a AAL to Dakars on my DCSB. I currently have a Leer camper top and steel bumper. Will the medium duty leaf pack settle below the 2.75" lift. Anybody know how much? I am wanting to keep my rear lifted around 2" so that there is not an excessive amount of rake. I am good with an inch or so higher in the back. Front is around 2" of lift. Thanks.

ive heard that you get like 3 inches almost on the 2.75 ones so i doubt theyd go down below 2...even with what ya got. and if they did, probably would take a while to sag like that. 200 lbs would not make it sag THAT much...i would think

I'd get the heavy duty leaf pack and remove a leaf if needed.

I'm running the old Dakars with the 3rd leaf removed. Fender to center of axle measurement is 23" with a Leer shell, 120lb RTT, bruteforce HC rear bumper with a swingout, 2 spare tires, 100lbs of recovery gear, and bolt on sliders. The leaf packs have been on the truck for over 3 years now and I tow a trailer with about 550 lbs tongue weight several times a year.

I have sliders & rear plate bumper (not HC) but I also don't carry my spare (unless on a road trip). No way in hell would I want the HD's. These mediums are stiff as shit as it is. It's comfortable when I'm fully loaded for camping + towing my small off road trailer, but I only ride around like this 5% of the time. I'm not one of those guys that try to look like I'm "overlanding" my balls off 24/7 when I'm actually just going to the grocery store.

But he can remove a leaf from the HD pack and that gives him the medium. If it turns out he's undersprung, he can put it back on. I don't think you can go the other way and buy a medium then turn it into a HD but that wasn't something I needed to consider when I got mine.

What shocks are you running @MolonLabeTaco? Even with the RTT off and only a single spare and minimal recovery gear I wouldn't describe the ride as stiff on my truck.

I wouldn't describe them as stiff at all the way I have them setup. I'm on the old pack with the 3rd leaf removed and run Fox 2.0 remote reservoirs in the rear.

I also have extra weight as mentioned in my earlier post...shell, armor and a single spare at minimum.
