I used to work at Circuit City & BBY during College, worked many BF's. I saw someone put a 50" Plasma in the back seat of a convertible mustang with the top down! Keep in mind, this is the old huge boxes that were like 60x36x18". And this was in NJ, it's NOT warm on BF in NJ. He insisted on having this thing on his back seat sitting vertically. He would not wait 3 days for free delivery.
We forced him to sign a waiver of his ability to return for damage or issues that could be caused by transporting in such a crazy way.

I'll one up you. I used to work in a furniture warehouse. Some couple came to look at our clearance section and found a sofa and love seat they really wanted. Gonna be honest, they were a very strange couple. They purchased it and insisted on taking it home right away.

They pull around back and we were expecting a pickup truck. It was 5 minutes until closing time and we were hoping this was going to be an easy load. Turns out it was a station wagon. We asked them if they maybe had a friend nearby who had a pick up.

They said to just throw it on the roof. We refused and they became persistent saying that they needed the sofa/loveseat badly that night. So we had them sign a waiver and clarified that we will not be loading nor strapping the load.

After seeing them struggle to put the sofa and loveseat on their roof and as we were about to head back into the warehouse, we heard some shouting at the corner of our building. Sofa and loveseat flew off the roof as they turned the corner.

Mid winter, we brought home two 80in tall Ikea Billy bookshelves in the back seat of ours. It was one of the few times that my wife was in the car with the top down on the highway in real cold weather. She pretty much laughed the whole way home. I used to do it any day that it wasn't raining.

But then, a friend did see me hauling our worn out artificial Christmas Tree to the dump on my side car. The funny part there was that the dump assured me that the accept trees for free. I confirmed that this was true for artificial trees also. Of course they tried to charge me at the gate, but the sidecar won them over.

OP, PM me your address and I’ll send you a tape measure. I have like ten of them laying around. There’s one or three in my truck as we speak...
