I don't know why you quoted me(I did not post what you quoted), but the damage you caused to your truck was not caused by the slider. That was all your fault...

RCI must be a huge company to have so many employees family here on the forum according to OP.

I have a different theory......some people think you are whining.

Keep em, return them whatever but constantly driving the same idiotic point is not working. Keep it up and you OP will be the RCI Smitty!

RCI was my front runner for sliders, looks like I need to do a little more product research.
    Thanks for posting this OP.

I have RCI sliders. Yes I expected them to be longer too, especially in the front. Pictures do not clearly show the length. Yes, the White Knuckle are longer. That said, I have used them and have had no issues. The truck will hit the mount in front and not the rocker unless there was a raised object in just the right spot. After use, I would order them again even being shorter.

That’s why I told him to just return them. This thread makes the OP look bad. I would not have even installed them, but I would have requested exact dimensions before purchase.

I think the big issue here is that OP complains that the forum should be helpful, but his lack of self awareness is mind boggling.

This could have been a post where he said....

    1. "The length of the sliders is 75". This surprised me, and I find it less than satisfactory."
    2. "I wrote RCI and let them know that adding the dimensions on their site would avoid customer dissatisfaction issues for those who want 85" .
    3. " I asked for a return because of the lack of clarity, and this is what RCI said".

Instead, he comes out and says they deceived him. He did not say he was mistaken, not that he overlooked this detail important to him, but to use the word deceive is deceitful behaviour by the OP.

Then he has the nerve to accuse anyone who does not grab a pitchfork to go after a reputable vendor of having alterior motives.

    What dbag behavior.

    1. Yes I look bad, who cares though, only one member here knows me in real life and they agreed with me.

    2. Nobody needs to worry about what I do with my property.

    3. You don’t have all the details. It’s been discussed already.

    4. From the backlash I got (which was expected) I probably won’t be sharing my findings here in the future.

    5. It’s sad when a forum is known to bash anyone trying to help the other members. Many people simply “lurk” here in fear of the masses. Maybe we can start working together as a family to help each other?

I agree that they were short for my taste and what I was looking for protection wise since I tend to always try the hard lines even if I'm told I probably can't do it:rofl:.

Ending up selling them to another forum guy and having @YamaDirtrider and @Red Baron build me some. Local dudes down near Parker. They custom make each set, tell them what you are looking for and they will give their insight/get it done. Buy no means are they a "big" shop, just some good dudes using their skills to help people out on the side.

I have RCI skids and have beaten the shit out of them, some dents but nothing major, just need a BAH and they will come out. Will be going back for LCA/Rear Dif skid most likely.

    1. This is real life. The internet is real.
    2. Ok.
    3. I know that you were replying to CrispyTacoLover, but I did read all of the details.
    4. Don't run away. That's just weak.
    5. No one was initially bashing you. Your comments about a trusted & respected vendor came off as harsh & bashing from the start. The responses that you received began as constructive criticism about how you worded your complaint. You, in turn, kept trying to justify your wording by constantly repeating the same exact thing, without fully grasping what others were trying to covey. This is when the tension began. Fire ensued. Eventually, you understood their point and admitted your mistake, which was that it was ultimately your fault to assume without more research, to be cautious of your wording, and that this vendor did not purposely try to deceive anyone. You also finally understood that many of the responses were typical in the setting of a freshly fueled dumpster fire, which can be highly entertaining, well, because, 3rd gen...

TW is a fun place, and there is also tons of excellent information that you can search through. Admittedly there can be real assholes here, but most are just fucking with you for the sake of fucking with you. It's all in the name of fun & Tacomas, dude. So don't run away. & just like the constructive criticism that you received, use this as a learning experience. It'll be worth it

Can’t believe the trolls keep stoking the flames in this thread. Oh wait this is where all the mature people hang out. I forgot.

If I’m a dbag for calling out RCI, then what is RCI for not providing ALL the details and real side pictures?

RCI is a great company to work with and they have excellent products. You on the other hand, are just looking to make a bad name for yourself here. Oh wait, too late. How do you think folks are going to act if you try and shit all over a TW supporter? Duh...

He did admit his mistake, but I'm not going back to find it, lol... But I do think that he's learning. Let's give him that much. He'll get it... eventually... lol

Regardless of what other post and what this thread has turned into, I'm looking at the "positive".

There is now a thread out there for when people are searching for sliders, they can use to assist their decision in purchasing. If they go hard and want a longer slider, they can look elsewhere, but if they mall crawl or don't wheel too hard, RCI sliders might be a good fit for them.

Initially RCI sliders were a good fit for me, I started wheeling harder, realized the gap in protection, as well a hearing about damage an unnamed forum member got from that lack of that protection, then I went to something with more protection.

Really the bottom line for me. Since we are all stating our opinions here, which we are entitled to do.

I highly doubt that. Most would have gotten the picture in the first 10 pages or less and been like, "oh shit, I messed up. Maybe I need to change my angle of approach." Not this winner...
