I have 2006 tacoma, 6 speed, 4.0 v6, 33x12.50, 132,000 miles. I drive the truck a few times a week but not far. It was been running bad for the last few thousand miles but mainly interstate speed when I have to give it more throttle. 1st and 2nd gear are fine. 3rd is usually fine but when I shift into 4th and hit 3000 rpms it falls on its face and goes nowhere. Same in 5th and 6th. Under 3000 rpms it will cruise but heavy gas it will do nothing and feels like its skipping almost. Had codes ran on it by two separate places and said it was the catalytic converters so I had them cut out but didn't help.

Any suggestions? Is it throttle body problems?

Without a scan tool to gather data for a proper diagnosis your gonna whip out the parts cannon like the last two shops and fire away which is a big mistake.

That was my mistake. Not grabbing a 1st Gen back in the day. Lesson finally learned.

Never a need there. My emotional support either comes with a key or in 16oz sizes.

Yeah, it figures. Nursing homes probably do get lonely when you're not willing to play with the new replacements always coming in :pout:
