Yea as long as the parts are updated its fine but if they are the same parts, it's just another band aid fix

That has always been the case.

For myself with squeaks and such, I'd go with grease before trying a pedal replacement. But, new part numbers sound promising?

Thankfully, mine has been trouble free even considering that I tried pulling out the return spring for a test.

over and over. it's been worth nothing except the tap on my time. the svc mgr basically said he doesn't care about squeaks, groans, and loose/play at the pedal. because for him to replace with new he needs to send back the old one and if it still works it's a problem for him. i told him it's about to fall apart with all the free play and he said yeah but it hasn't fallen apart yet.

Sounds like a load of bullshit to me, no one has the time to test old parts to verify if its broken or not. Have you tried a new dealer?

not for this issue yet. the next dealer down the road is way worse. there's another new one not too far... Toyota of Longo/Prosper out 380. i may try them, because i seem to be falling flat with figuring out a different parts solution.

Call corporate? I'm not well versed in warranty/dealer stuff, but this sounds like a no-brainer.. TSB exists, and you have the symptoms; how can they NOT fix it?

on the TSB it says in warranty or no TSB for you. that's one way. another way is to just say anything. they don't call them stealerships for nothing.

Just took mine to the dealer for this (TSB) today.
Pain in the ASS squeak. At first they just wanted to try & tighten the Clutch resistance. "NO BUENO"

It sucks because it's such an integral piece of driving makes me dread traffic even more because of the increased use. Had to do what my wife does when something on the car doesnt sound right...just turn the radio volume up higher and pretend like its not there

I mean the directions on the TSB are pretty clear if you hear squeaking or groaning go to step 2. Whats step 2 you ask? Ding ding ding replace clutch pedal assembly.

Honestly a lot of it is that the manual drivers are almost the redheaded stepchildren and I'm sure the paperwork and profit margins are garbage for the dealerships on these things so the interest isn't there.

Mine creaked. I greased it up recently and it's smooth as glass now. I knew about the old TSB and had no interest because it's same parts. I'm interested if they have new parts though.

Had the earlier TSB done on my '18 last summer, they replaced the parts, last week it was cool enough to use the heat, sure enough, while I made it through the heat of the summer with little to no noise, it started groaning with the heat on. I hit it with some hi temp brake grease, it's quiet and feels smoother now.

If they've come up with some new parts I'd consider having them replaced again, otherwise I will just grease it as necessary. I don't see the point of putting the same parts back in again.

This TSB continues to get updated from time to time. These are newer parts than what would have come in the truck for most people. The newest master was already being used in 2017 trucks, but the pedal in the latest TSB is newer than that.

It’s probably worth getting it done if you have the squeak. Hope for the best and then lube it again if the squeak comes back or replace it again if they update the TSB again.
